I have an HJ60 with a somewhat solid body and somewhat solid frame. You can see daylight through the fenders, and can poke holes through parts of the frame.
It's a 1987 HJ60 imported from Canada, 2H Diesel was rebuilt or reconditioned 5 years ago, and has excellent compression (400psi). The H55F shifts beautifully, and is very quiet and comfortable. It has 33" BFG All Terrain Tires, and an OME suspension lift.
The only "RIGHT" way to get the job done in my opinion, is to transplant everything over to a clean frame and body containing zero rust.
I've been on the search for such a machine for a long time, and finally found one in California at Georg's shop (valley hybrids). Now comes the fun part of rewiring the FJ62 with the 24 volt loom, moving the gas tank, engine mounts, etc etc etc etc.
My list is a mile long, but this will be the absolute best way to complete this project
