Come heck or high water my Pig will run on Saturday!

Here is what I have left to do:
- finish hooking up carb
- bleed clutch
- button down dash
- fill radiator
- break in motor!

Thanks to everyone who came out last weekend! I'll post up pics this time when my baby runs!

I'll be finishing off this work Sat from 7 am until about 4 pm. Anyone is welcome to come by - some mentioned at my HAMOM about helping to finish the work. :bounce::bounce2:

I got my rocker studs switched out, valve train and cover installed. To crank this puppy now I need to:

1) Hook up starter
2) Finish hooking up clutch line
3) Bleed clutch
4) Fill radiator/engine w/ coolant
5) Check all connections
6) Crank!

I'm now offering beer and meals to anyone who wants to show up. I'm a wee bit hesitant (OK - a lot hesitant) to start this puppy without someone being there that actually knows what they are doing.

That would be Marshall, but I do know a good Shamin in Cherokee who works cheap.

But if he is not available, you could always get JP to preside over the initial startup. Remember, he got that old 40 he found in the desert to crank up after what, 30 years. And if the miracle in the desert wasn't enough, don't forget the miracle he performed at Caesar's Head getting an engine to run without the fuel line hooked up (or a voltage regulator, etc.). One more miracle and JP is eligible for sainthood.

Then there is David H., who I think practices Cruiser Budhism ("Ohhm, cruiser, Ohhm). This might not work, as Cruiser Budhism is against the use of BF Hammers.

Just don't call the Rover kid from across the street who puts marbles and jbweld in the engine rather than oil:hillbilly:

This weekend I'm installing a tonneau cover, setting valve lash, hooking up a 8000rpm
VDO tach and setting toe in..:steer:
Ohm...spridget,spridget,spridget...Ohm

Everything is in - Pig is in the driveway - am having trouble getting the motor to crank and am not reading any oil pressure....Gundy is in route!

Made a couple of chants.....sprinkled some holy oil.
That's one BAD 2F. Sounds great! Left 'em changing out the break-in oil.

Ohm...cruiser,cruiser,cruiser...Ohm :grinpimp:

A big thanks to Gundy and Boot for the help today. The Pig would not have ran without both of you.

I took a little trip into Easley and my headlights kept getting dimmer and dimmer until the Pig would cut off anytime I neared a stop. After losing power about four times I limped into the driveway.

Boot thinks the alternator is out and I agree. I'll get it checked out soon.

adam- smkymtn put a mean green on his. so he may sale his old one.. new oem regulator and i think rebuilt. pm him ..
great to see the pig running.. enjoy

Good to hear of the progress steve! if that whole connecting the alternator thing doesnt work i got one here for you. Im just getting ready to start on gettting the piggy running again here; thanks for the inspiration.

Coming up 385 this morning...topped the bridge over 85 and BOOM! There she sits. What a wonderful way to start a Monday morning. Sunrise on a revived ride. Congrats on getting it running. It looks great.
