I saw one on the road this weekend in Saudi Arabia

I saw one in Saudi Arabia this weekend and Raced it, and the FZJ71 locked great, very fast little truck and can go to 170 plus kilometers in a blink of an eye.

I will try to post the photos I took with my DVD Video Camera but the problem I have no USB connection so I will go to the photo shop to transffer them to a CD ROM so I can down load them to my computer and into this site.;)

Stay tonned guys.

Its amazing (and encouraging) how little has changed in 23 years. Have they added a reinforcement for the hitch? It looks like the pintle is only using the bottom two holes in the rear crossmember.

Third brake light now eh? Looks like an afterthought.

I'd sure like to get a set of those vent window doors for my BJ74.

How about this photo in the Desert of Saudi Arbia

How do you like this photo:rolleyes:

Hi sikocycles, if you are from the USA you can order them from Venezuella they are available in Petrol 4.5L or Diesel 4.2L, they are left hand Drive as in the USA. I have seen more than one in Canada.

They're only available with the 4.5L sadly, diesel engines are not very popular here (gas is dirt cheap).

Are you sure you can not make a special order for the 4.2 Deisel

Hi "JAC83", I thought they are available with the 4.2 Deisel, are you sure you can not make a special order from the dealer in your country for the 4.2 Deisel.

More 71 pics

here is a pic of the 71:cool:

the pic was taken in the Official TOYOTA dealer in Suadi Arabia, they just arrived there, the other pics I posted before were taken in other unofficial dealers.

the price for the truck is about 27000$ thousand dollars according to what some people told me.

Nope, not available, not even as a special order. (heck, it's incredibly hard to find ANY LC right now because of shortages, people are re-selling the 2005 used ones over the MSRP of the 2007 models, it's crazy).

Very few companies sell cars with diesel engines here, I think there are a couple of pick-up models that offer them and the rest are large trucks/buses.

The 70 series were 6 lugs up until the year 1999, in 2000 they changed to 5 Lugs along with the 1FZ-FE 4500EFI engine and 240HP, that stock engine along with the 5 speed manual can race V8's Specially the FZJ71 and FZJ74 they are super fast and I and my brother own both of them.

About the Side Graphic, they are a main thing here in the Middle East actually since the 80's each 70 series model year has its own distinguished SIDE GRAPHICS and we know each 70 series production year by looking at the Side Graphics, I (We) LIKE THE SIDE GRAPHIC ALOTE and some times I (We) can not wait for the next year model to see how they look:cheers:  :) ;) :bounce: :bounce2:   ;p

Great photos of what wil be great truck. Was not aware they were makinga SWB. Will be very popular amongst 4WDers here in NZ. Lot of our tracks are very tight.

I tried the link to the photos... LOL

Easy reading....NOT.

You can post bigger images. But they need to be hosted on another server. Then you only upload the url...

Post your questions for images in the help section please, maybe someone can help ya.

Short Wheel Base & Middle Wheel Base

Hi guys, The SWB & MWB were made since the 70 series were introduced in 1984 and they were available every were.

You guys have to force the Dealer in your countries (NZ, AUS...) to bring them.

Large Photos

Thank you "brownbear", I learned how to resize photos by trial and error and finally I knew that my computer has the Adobe program and by using it I am know resizing the photos.

I have only one problem know that I took tons of still photos by my DVD Video Camera, the photos were great, but as the camera has no USB connection I could not transffer them to my computer, so I am searching for a way to do that, maybe by transffering it to a CD-ROM.

It seems that the model change did not effect the vehicles sold in Venezuela and Central America. Here in Sri Lanka the 70 series is available in diesel and petrol models but the 2007 model is not out yet. Hence, I am unsure if the model change is effective here as well.

The word is that the Canadian mine trucks are coming with the new front end c/w a different frame design. The rails are wider at the front, presumably to suit the 1VD V8 diesel. So far the only engine option is the 1HZ even though the mines are asking for the 1HDfte to reduce emissions. As I understand it the V8 will be lower emissions yet. I'm excited about the possibility of a turbo diesel mine truck but am a bit concerned about the wider frame. Hopefully turning radius with lager tires won't suffer.
