It's just economics - there is a relatively minimal demand in North America for REAL heavy duty 4X4 trucks, and the numbers don't work. So we are basically down to next to none, unless you more or less build one yourself via the aftermarket or bring something in that gets the job done. You can still buy a Unimog at least here in Canada if you are really serious, but nothing like an 80 series landcruiser any more.

I have a new 2008 78series Troopy here in the UK. it has 5.5x16s with a 5x150 stud pattern.

The problem is, I cant find any steel wheels for it to replace the 5.5js that came on it.
Does anyone have any online recommendations where I can purchase some from?

You could try contacting King Wheels in oz and ask them if they have a dealer it can be sent to in Europe in their next container.
Otherwise the freight would be as much as the wheels from oz.

Wheels are the bane of my existance for my HZJ79. I have the factory splits 5.5, a set of toyota non splits that are 6 inch, and I just got a set of 100 series alloys that are 8 inches wide - but I have to use spacers on the front and back to get them to fit. There are veyr little options out there for wheels - and looks like it will be that way for a few years.

I expect that in japan they will have a better option for aftermarket rims in the next few short years - the Japanese like aftermarket stuff - then sell the factory wheels on Yahoo Japan. I want the alloys for the 79 series that are 5 spoke - they look awsome - and have the proper backspacing. But, I just don't want to pay the shipping from OZ.

Hi. These are some pics I took of my friends SWB (older model).

Hope you like. I think it is very sexy :)

Awesome pictures, thanks for sharing. I really wish we could get those in the USA :crybaby:

It is cool for me to see these Yotas from Saudi Arabia because I was born in Dammam. Unfortunately my parents moved back to the USA shortly after I was born so I only lived there for about 2 years. Since I am a big Toyota enthusiast they always told me about all the cool toyotas that everyone had over there. It was really neat to see these pics!! Hope to be able to come back some day..
