Spontaneous trip to the Sierras to do Corral Hollow trail near Bear Valley. I had heard about the views on this trail so I wanted to check things out for myself.

Unfortunately, after the peak ridge, the trail was fenced off.

We had to head out the same way we came in but that storm ^^^ caught up to us so we got a little hail action on the trail out.

Nice and free car wash.

Fun and easy trail with some great views.

564 mile trip across the NC and TN mountains this weekend. Asheville, Mt. Pisgah, Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Balsam Mountain, Cherokee, Robbinsville, Tellico Plains, Murphy, then back south to home. Two nights camping in NC and TN. Great trip with plenty of dirt roads explored. Just wish I would have taken the fishing rod!

Took my son camping for his first time to Corral Canyon - San Diego, CA.

Went up to Los Pinos Lookout and got to go up into the tower.

Some of you might have seen this view half dozen times (or seen it more on mud), but for me it was my first. What a beautiful sight it was! I loved this drive muddy trail and all.
Recently heard that it is closed now from a terrible accident (not LC) a sidexside with a man and a woman rolled off the trail during hundreds in the hills and the woman injured pretty bad. I pray for them in a safe recovery. And thank you for being good trail stewards.

1toy thanks also for the pic; I love that photo spot; I did not hear about that crash; was it one of the members of the 100 in the hills group?
