That's a good idea to use your ski rack to hold fishing rods!

Just some advice regarding the placement of rods in the holders. Rods should be placed the around the other way to avoid wind force breaking rod tips. Also reels should be taken off rods ,the vibration can end reel life quickly. (however I don't do this on smaller reels). ARB guy stated this when I purchased my rod/ski holders. I'm little surprised how many get it wrong, see so many with rod tips forward into the wind

Our friends stopped by to visit on there way through. Seemed like a good photo op.
Do you get any views of the Columbia close by? I've heard of some nice camping overlooking the river out that way near Vantage. I'd like to explore out there sometime soon.
I went off into the forest and on to route 4 of the OBDR for a couple of days.

Got more stuff out of the cab. My dog and kids are happy for that, and my wife’s “drawer” set up is working nicely. It all fits up in that Thule with room to spare. Camping for my buddy’s bday @ tarryall with 23 peeps.

I don’t even own skis, but that is the actual purpose of the racks - Ha!
Interesting, although I used this setup for a 5,000 mile round trip with no issues. I do usually remove the reels before driving. Still safer than inside the car with 3 young kids!
The road we camped by went down into the canyon and ended at a boat ramp right on the river. I couldn’t see the River from this spot, but I’ll be going back and looking for a spot overlooking the river. I’ve heard about spots overlooking the river too, but wasn’t able to find them on this trip.

did you paint the bumper or did the paint come like that from the factory? asking because i have grey bumpers
