Below Loon Lake playing around on the granite at Rubicon staging area

Staring into the so called Gatekeeper for the start of the Rubicon from Loon Lake. We all got out and walked through it, pretty gnarly but I think doable. Next summer is the plan!

I LOVE the look of those steel wheels. They're the Tundra wheels, correct? I have a spare set of the 5 spoke steel ones, but I think I gotta find some of the ones you have. Looks bad ass in my opinion.

Nice licence plate too. Well done.

Thank you very much on both comments. Yes Tundra steelies. Took some persistence to find them but when I did they were super cheap at $40 for the first 4 of them, then I found the spare as a single for $25. Powder coating wasn't cheap though, probably would not do that again. Also very <read here> heavy but I really like the look so MPG be dammed!

Cheers!

Thanks for the info @rjones! From that thread you linked, it looks like your wheels are actually lighter than the ones I have. Did you notice any major difference when off road? I'm gonna keep my eyes open on CL and see if I can track some down.

Here's a pic to stay relevant.

Finally got a chance to stretch the legs in this rig! Hit the trails with a bunch of friends from my Tacoma days.
My buddy grenaded, his front axle, so we had a nice trail side repair to do to get him going again.

Sunday goals : get truck dirty, learn a little history, spend some time in the fresh air and sun (SLC has a nasty inversion going on currently).

I've been wanting to check out the Pony Express for a while. Sunday seemed like as good of a day as any to get out there.
