Whew...after 8 weeks of getting this thing sand blasted, powder coated and a spring over..the frame is finally done...and what a pain in the butt it was. The nice thing which occurred...which really worried me was... it is ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY LEVEL!!! I mean..... perfectly level with the bumper.
So the matching wheels worked out and the tub is being worked on as we speak. The hand brake was totally re-welded and all SS bolts...I just wanted to share ..... ;))

Thankyou....I don't know how level it will be when the tub goes on...I think it will be OK......next week will be when the tub is finished from the welder.

hehe
you put the landing leg on backward :p

Looks really good though

Purty. Are you gonna add the second safety chain so you can cross under & cradle the tongue in the event of hitch release?

The leg is backwards??....LOL...thanks I did not realize that... Yep, I'm off tomorrow to find another chain for the other side. I put the leg on Backwards...what a dummy I am.. Well, this is a new thing to me..besides a wheel is going on it anyway and I still need to paint it.

You will need to extend the leg with the spring over now.
Let us know what shocks you end up with.
I did a s/o 2yrs ago and haven't put shocks on yet. I need to have shock mounts welded to the axle some time this summer.

Are those wheels on the trailer the same 6 on 5.5" lug pattern as your 80?

If they are, how did you change the lug pattern of the trailer hubs?

Kevin..NO, the wheels are NOT the same lug pattern as my 80. This still upsets me. The tire rack QUIT selling the same lug pattern that my 80 has...so if I wanted the same wheels I had no option except to go with a 5 on 5.5 lug pattern. So, although they are the same wheels that match my 80...they are a different lug pattern....

Yes I have the shocks already...they are the ones from NAPA...they will go on this weekend.

Are they extended? Do you have a part #?

Hey Kirk...I will have to research that when I get home. The shocks were actually in stock at NAPA....and were only $32.00 bucks for both. The part number is on the box. I'll get home and check that out and post..

Steve,

Are you going to haul a spare for the trailer, or just play the odds?

Hey Garth! Yes, I will take the chance. I will simply take a tire repair kit on my trips and hope for the best. However, I still have the original M416 trailer wheel which will work in a pinch..in limp mode. So, that may be an option....if I can figure out how to attach it under the trailer frame.

Steve,
I don't know about the 416 but on the cdn101's I have seen a 60 series underbody spare mount bolted under the trailer..
If the tub and cargo drop the trailer too much you can move the lunette to the upper postion to re-level the trailer.

Your right Panzer...I have seen the spare mounted under the trailer as well...I'm still far off but that will probably be the route I go.
