are any of yall interested in/knowledgable about tool restoration?
i got the bug and want to restore an axe head I found in my basement. I am failry confident its a "jersey"
it had a red painted poll and cheek, it had a thick black stripe painted on the beard/bit, going toward the edge. I dont want to waste my time on something if its not quality. I havnt found any makers marks on it, do any good manufacturers only use stickers/paint to mark their tools, or would any quality axe have some kind of identifying mark stamped/pressed, etc into it?

You need to be introduced to http://www.garagejournal.com/

Though, it may just be mechanics' tools. Welcome to an obscure corner of the internet.

Operated by Ryan the dude who started the Jalopy Journal which is dedicated to old hot rods and I spend a lot (2 words btw) there. Good folks.

For sure...
I would actually like to see him get 10 to 12 for it..
A lot of elbow grease went into that thing

he allegedly turned down 13!
If anyone points out this truck didnt move last year for 4k that thread is going to go the way of "ratchet strap spare tire" or "they keep the drug money"

:popcorn::popcorn:

Allegedly. Very shady that he is not posting any pictures of the areas that had the major damage before, no undercarriage pics, and won't correct his "mistake" about the head gasket.
he said the PHH has been done, thats the same thing right? at least just as good...

I told him that unless some one after me did the head gasket that it had not been done.
Some one has had the valve cover off but that doesn't mean anything.
He also didn't mention that the A/C leaks and needs to be refilled every summer after I told him that it did.
I/ we have done everything we can other than flat call him out..
If some one is too lazy to look on this site and find the numerous threads involving that truck then oh well.

It does look like the front seats have new leather.

Exactly, and they might even decide it is worth the price after doing the research. I would like to see how they fixed the damaged pillar and the rear quarter panel. It's a good truck, just annoying that he feels like he needs to lie about it.

agreed...
I actually did put a good bit of effort into making it mechanically sound...
But; Really... Those tires are the ones you sold me, I think they are close to 10 years old and badly worn. Not what you would expect on a 13k+ 80

Juvenile gray rat snake, not quite two years old. Harmless and very common, but I bet it scares the heck out of the secretaries. One this size will feed lizards, frogs, mice while adults go for birds, mice, rats.

I wish I had random snakes wandering into my office.

I am learning the hard way not to order anything from Autoplicity.
did everyone else already know this?
