My buddy on chirtty trees in his gen 1 Tacoma pops axles all the time. Locker+five speed+ chirtty trees+rocks = break

Not saying it can't be done, and I don't know the differences between Tacoma axles and the uzJ100 but I'd imagine the 100s are larger diameter and possibly a different spline count.

Front locker + any size tires = trouble on the Taco.

However... (If you've got it) ATRAC fakes LSD in the front and doesn't seem to stress out the axles too much. I lifted front tire here (was running my swaybar, and was on a chitty line) and ATRAC did its thing in the front, rear was locked, and it was kinda cool, pulled right through. It sounds like the brakes are gonna explode with all the clicking and such, but it seems to work pretty well. Granted, this wasn't anything extreme, and was a single use case. Over time who knows.

Now... that said... it's definitely not a locker, but if I was wheeling IFS somewhere that I needed a locker, I'd know I was getting myself in over my head to begin with.

Oh, and how about some 60 porn while we're at it. Ran across this pic from the Fins 'n' Things while I was looking for the other one from 7Mi Rim.

I think dans 120 is badass, there just needs to be more aftermarket support.

I can't wait to see him do a SAS.

100s are nice. I wouldn't turn my nose up at them, but there is just no way I could afford to mod/work on either of them.

One day, 200k miles from now, I'll probably have a 5.3 in my 80.

Top pic of my truck is 7 Mile Rim, 60's are Fins 'n' Things. Both in Moab, UT last year. I drove the truck out there to wheel with some friends.

This guy was hilarious, stock 100. He tore the F out of his running boards on this obstacle. Just pointed it on the right line and lit the fuse. It was pretty painful to watch. We told him he shoulda checked in with Christo at vendor night BEFORE doing it... he was laughing his butt off about it though the entire way up it.

Oh... and neither of his front wheels fell off. Then again, he was running like 31's, lol.

Also, I'm pretty certain it was his dad's truck. That's his dad in the passenger seat. Guy was probably 35, dad was probably in his late 60's. They were a fun crew.

Would anyone be able to check out a 4runner for me?

Hahahaha...Stella Artois? Anyone?

Sit tight another 2 weeks. I'll come snatch them just soak them with some pb
Blaster or acf-50.

You have two good headlight housings also? 93 the same as 92 housing?

HF impact wrench isnt enough for the bolts I cant loosen first with the pull handle.

I will have to get a wobble and extension anyway, so Maybe I can get my pull handle into those awkward spaces to get them started.

I was planning on going to awburn Sunday, not sure if I'll have the springs pulled by then or not though.

the good part about this though is how quickly my tool collection is growing. :bounce:
we have those head lights by the way. what are they worth?

what are OME 2.5" heavy front springs worth?

Haha...give me a couple weeks. I wanna look at what you have left on that rig. I'm bringing cash and tools and rompin2001 with me

Does anyone have links or pictures to someone who bedlinned the whole interior of their wagon? I don't have a problem doing the floor, but I'm wondering what a the roof and sides would look like with the carpet and headliner replaced.

You still planning on replacing the carpet & headliner? Otherwise, yer gonna turn that 80 into a smoker (I mean in a bad way).

You can see pics of the floor and wheel wells we did on my wife's Grand Wagoneer - the whole interior was gutted. We didn't bother doing the roof, since we still had to take care of the rusted roof rack holes and plan to re-insulate it and put a headliner back in.

I would like something more utilitarian. My carpet is getting abused, catches dog hair, sand dirt mud all that. If I do it I'll insulate the floor before lining. I would really like to replace it with vinyl/rubber but I dot know where I could source that. I'll check out the link thank you.

Then I would spray your choice of bedliner and then look for some heavy rubber mats for the floor. Think 1/2 to 3/4" fatigue mats, the kind you see in industrial workshops. Get a couple then cut them to shape to fit over the tranny hump and up the firewall. This will cut down on engine heat that will be pouring into the cabin once you remove the carpet and insulation.

FYI, most bedliners I have seen will hold mud and dirt too, but you will have the option to spray it out. Bedliner is also rough on fabric and skin. Keep that in mind when choosing one brand over the other. The Herculiner we used is really painful on bare feet and elbows (don't know about dog feet). We have not added any mats to the passenger areas, but we did throw down a big rubber mat in the back to keep from scuffing up duffle bags and gear. I got it at Northern tool for about $60 and it is about 1/4" thick with a vertical pattern on one side and smooth on the other. I think it was meant to throw in a pickup bed. We cut this one down to fit in her cargo area.

As for the roof, you may want to dynamat it or something similar that has a metal barrier. If you put any kind of foam insulation up there, the spray on bedliner will dissolve it.

We are considering insulating the GW with home insulation panels (blue or pink stuff) cut to shape, then having a marine grade vinyl headliner put in....but that is much farther down the road ;)

I like the marine vinyl headliner idea...

I know I wouldnt use body schutz, that stuff grabs at everything. It has worked great on the exterior but it lets me know its there everytime I bump into it.

I am looking for something I can hose out that isnt abrasive. for all the reasons you said, bags, skin, dog paws etc... My very first truck had bed liner applied with a smooth roller. It was easy to wash out, but there was zero friction, that probably doesnt seem like a big deal to anyone who hasnt experienced a truck cab you cant get traction on, just holding your foot on the gas was difficult since your heel always wanted to slid back.

if on the floor I bed lined/por-15, then insulated, then covered in indoor/outdoor carpet would that be asking for rust?

?Rubberized coating?

If you coat it then put mats/indoor/outdoor carpet I think you'll be fine. POR-15 is one of the toughest rust blockers out there, but it has a slick finish and you can't paint over it - not sure if bedliner would stick to it. I wonder if you could add a second or third coat of POR-15 with some grout or really fine sand added to it to add traction.
