So is that the new cruiser? (Yeah I’m a wee bit ignorant on anything post ‘97 😂)

Lee,
It had me at hello 😂.
I have only put about 100 miles on it. The underground color with the Java interior is a handsome color combination. I have read every negative comment in the 250 section. (Gas tank too small, 4 cylinder, blah blah blah ). I am 1000% happy with my decision.
The new power plant is a legitimate concern should it have unexpected problems . So I hedged my bet and splurged on a 6 year 100k mile comprehensive warranty .
Hit me up anytime as I don’t think I will ever do a thread on this one.
Regards
Lance

Thanks Lance. Yeah, I worry about the longevity of the twin turbo setup myself - even with Toyota quality, it's hard to believe that it will be more durable than a naturally-aspirated engine, but that what we get when regulators and bureaucrats rather than free markets decide what is best for us. One of my sons has a new Tacoma with the same powerplant for his company vehicle, and he puts a lot of miles on those so I'll have another data point there.

Linda's RX still runs really well, but our 1/2-mile dirt road "driveway" can be pretty rough and it has been hard on the RX suspension for sure, so she is looking for something with 4WD with a little heavier suspension that is still nice to drive. The 250 and the GX are at the top of her list, but it will probably be a while yet before we pull the trigger.

@1911
One more variable that gives me some comfort. I will have both teenagers driving in May. So the 250 will be my DD but I live 6 miles from work. Before kids I averaged about 8k miles per year.

Milestone,
Youngest passed her drivers exam Thursday which logistically makes it easier to drive the 40. I did a fair amount today and man I enjoyed it. Then the Mrs and I washed the 200 and the 250.

40+250=2Happy. I am enjoying the 250. It is very nimble relative to the 200.
Haven’t driven the 40 at all. My life is dominated by these 2 teenagers. Beach volleyball, college applications and visits, PPL training, fishing. It is hitting me pretty hard that my son will be gone in one year. Daughter in two. I am just trying to immerse myself in their pursuits for the little time I have with them.

My son just started wearing the same shoe size as me and I’m losing my sh!t. He’s almost 14.

Every single tiny moment I’m relishing with both my kids. Terrified to reach where you are, about to send them off.

Woo boy.

Every time I want to get my 40 out right now the temps quickly make me reconsider and I drive the more modern vehicle. Do your kids have schools in mind?
Service academy or ROTC for the son. Anywhere that will take her to play beach VB for the daughter.
