So where are all the keith'd up pics of the new truck in the field by the house?

Less we forget...I did wax it a few times...she's got that road warrior shine...

Quick hit with the shop vac and a wet rag, and it looks like this.

Here it is.

I know what you're thinking... looks a lot like it did 9 months ago... ;)

I'm disappointed it's not minesez

New windshield, new headlights, improved sliders - looks good to me. Can't wait to see it in person again.

I am disappointed that you didn't armor all the tires

lol. I haven't touched the outside. Just got all the dirt out of the inside. I know. I embrace the OCD from time to time.

I need to get with whoever's got the AC equip. Doesn't someone have a vacuum pump that runs off of an air compressor, and someone's got the gauges / manifold setup?

Nick said he thought a motor mount might need welding, and it kinda feels that way to me. You get that lash under shifting that kinda feels like it's torquing and bouncing a little. Similar to the feeling I got back when I was autocrossing hondas and acuras when you'd break a motor mount.

Got two tubes of FIPG to do the third members, need to pick up some gear oil to get those pulled, re-sealed, and re-filled.

can't "reweld" the motor mount... but you can pull it and drill through it and use a grade 10 bolt to make sure it never unbolts again... I'd suggest that method. plan on a good saturday for that job.
If there is intake imprints on the hood carpet, then yeah, it's raising up on hard throttle...

I forgot that I put a new windshield in it...I should asked another 200$:doh::rolleyes:

I had a mishap and smacked the windshield on a branch coming down my drive way...so the crack was a bit worse when I had it replaced...:bounce2:

The search for a 40 will start next summer when I sell my crib and move back to Auburn:cheers:

It could be one of the trans mounts thats causing the Torque under acceleration. Just an over all SHIFT of the Powerplant and the Gearbox. Drop that skid and check a few things. I also had a really good idea for a skid plate/belly pan that wouldnt be too expensive if you could find someone with a sheet bender that can handle 3/16 steel. Would be bolt on and my sliders were made to accommodate the plate.

Glad its got a good home...woulda hated to sell it to some jack leg from some where else...:meh::flipoff2:

Auburn!
I miss that place!
I think.

I'll check that out. I think my FIL's metal worker will do 3/16... maybe. I don't think it will handle a very wide sheet is the only problem.

Eric thanks for the motor mount wisdom. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to get a look at everything.

When did you ever break a motor mount in the Integra?

Likely sent from the bathroom stall using IH8MUD

Drove Cristian's civic with a broken one back when he was running the bottle and a turbo. It feels weird. You hit the throttle and you can feel the driveline / engine lurch and bounce a couple of times before the power hits the wheels fully.

I'ma be honest, I had a broken motor mount and I never felt it under regular driving... but under lo-range torque. Yeah...
I bet it's broken if it's original, it's rubber after-all... but I'm not too sure you felt it on the interstate, unless it's like hard acceleration at a redlight.
Is there an indention on the sound dampener under the hood? Cause there will be if it's broken.

Still kinda trying to learn where the engagement point is with the clutch throw, so I've had some 1-2 shifts that were a little, uh... spirited. That's when I felt it.

Also, it's kinda screwed with me that reverse is over and left from neutral. I'm so used to a 5-6 speed where that's where second is. I've had a couple of 3-2 downshifts that it's been like, whoooooooaaaa don't do that.

Is there a slight shake or rattle when you crank her up? That's what lead me to damaged mount, trans or motor.

Yeah... there's some that kinda sound like they're coming from under the black metal plate that the shifters are in. Then again, there seems to be a bunch of engine noises coming through there on startup. I'm not sure what "normal" sounds like. I need to pull the skid, chock the wheels, crawl under, and get Abby to start it while I can see errthang.

Nothing "normal" about that truck! It'll take trained 3FE ears to tell you what's normal in the engine and Matt or Paul to tell you what is normal with the A42 in an 80...

I didn't hear it the last 2-3 times a cranked it up...it's a toss up. I did the lay and listen 8-10 times one week.
