Without further ado, I present you, the most single hand item I have ever bought in my entire life with the exception of my house I use to have many years ago.

Impressions?
Quit starring at me!
People were speeding up behind me on the way home to check out my big fat rear, then coming up beside me to see it.
And this was just the ride home from the dealer about 5 miles away.

Driving, power!
And when the 5 speed auto shifts, it sounds like you are driving a manual almost and going through the gears.
I may not even put a Magnaflow muffler on it, the stock one sounds great.
But then again, I loved the 14" (body) Magnaflow I had on my '91 4Runner.
The rig pulled very well, gobs of power, and I hardly touched the go pedal.

Goodbye dear old 4Runner, its been a blast, but two things are sure in life, death and taxes, and it was time to let you go.
You were good to me for many years.

Brakes
Very touchy, huge disc rotors, lots of stopping power.
Will take a light foot to get use to it, I am use to putting down a lot more pressure with the old rig.

Put the All Weather floormats in, and the rear carpeted cargo mat, and cut the tether to the stock gas cap and replaced it with the Stant one.
This is about all I will do to it tonight, this heat wave continues, and I am drained.

Getting the Clifford Responder put in tomorrow.

Alarm has pager built into the remote, and will beep you or vibrate.
LCD screen on remote shows which zone has been attacked too.

The other mods
Slee Hi-Lift mount
Bentup sliderz
Bandi CB antenna mount will be put on this coming weekend when I get free time.

Driving it home was a blast, but also a little paranoid.
First time I have ever driven one of these.

Blind spot?
There is no blind spot.
I could see out the rear window, the sides, and with the nice mirrors on the sides just fine and dandy.
I think the infamous blind spot is an urban legend.

Will be also looking into new tires before to long.
The stock rubbers gotta go.

Oh, did I mention I like the rig :D
Lotta fun, can not wait to let the mods fly forth and lighten my wallet once again like it did when I was moddin' the 4Runner.

I am sure I will think of something else to add later, but I am running on zero sleep here from the dang heat from yesternight.
Dang, it is still hot.
Turn off the frickin' oven please.

Congrats on your new purchase your gonna love your new rig. One thing i must mention since yours still has very low mileage on your tires. I would suggest trading them in as soon as possible to get top dollar for yours. That is the single biggest regret i have about my FJ, i figure i'll just run the stock tires till their worn and then get some new rubber. Anyway go get her dirty!

Nobody wanted my stock tires. Wouldn't even take them for nothin! Such an odd size, I guess. Plust they are rated as car tires.

Tried that. They didn't want them. They didnt' think they could sell them. Maybe I will try other places.

Glad you finally have it! Have fun, I know I am.

Thanks guy's.
Already have some Cooper Discoverer STT tires in mind.

I like my Wild Country TXRs I have ran for years on the 4Runner, but as Les Schwab tires told me, the STTs are a much neweer design, and a better off road tire.

Getting an ARB put on before to long, and I have my Warn XD 9000 left over from the old rig.
Also will use OME coils and shocks probably.

I traded mine on the way home from the purchase, only 8 miles. That may have helped. Good luck.
I had less milage than that on mine. His concern was the odd size, and the fact that it is not a truck tire.

Before I picked mine up, I called Discount Tire and asked for a trade, they said ok offering my $30-35each (pretty low!) but knew they were looking at selling 5 BFG AT 285's. I ended up getting $40 each, which basically paid for the spare, and havent looked back. I ran a similar Cooper on my FJ 40 and they were good performers. Congrats on your rig - try not to sleep in the garage...

Look forward to seeing the buildup!

Looks great Corey! :bounce: I'll be awaiting the build-up picts & comments.

When is December? Dammit!!!!!!!

Just for the hell of it can you name some cars that have 265/70/17's? Personally i can't think of any.

Go to www.tirerack.com and search for 265/70/17 - you'll see tons of them (21 I counted). It's a very popular size. I have no idea what other vehicles have this size as OEM.

What kind of a monster car would have tires with such a tall sidewall. Not that i doubt that this is true but would it would seem like such a tire would belong on a SUV or a truck and not a car

When I said it's not a truck tire, I mean it is a P265/70/17. That is passenger car designation. If it were a truck tire, it would say LT265/70/17. It has to do with load carrying capacity. I don't mean that it belongs on a car, just that a truck would overload this tire. It isn't designed to carry much of a load.;)
