Looking good! Was the metal roof also part of the package? I've got panels of that same pattern & color but need the cap piece.

Yeah, the ridge caps came in the bundles. I have a bunch of trim pieces all wrapped up in plastic that I am going to have to get out and sort thru. So any pieces to figure out what goes where. The instructions are decent, but not the best. They leave some things to sort out on your own. So far so good, but we are just getting into the fiddly part.

We weren't in a huge hurry to get out to the farm this morning since it was 27* when we got up. We got rolling right around 11:30 and tried to just get on with it.

Started by getting the box blade hooked up to the tractor and doing a little grading Around the front. Filling in some ruts and whatnot. Then we got down to business.

Rat board, then wainscoting run and cap on the west end.

Then the fun part, shuffling metal stacks to get the upper panels we needed. Got the upper trim up and started trimming metal.

Hoping to get the rest of the west end knocked out tomorrow and then maybe start on the back. Front and back should go much quicker since we have to cut every upper end panel for the roof pitch And the front and back came cut to length.

Couple more good days and we should have walls.

Thanks Sean. I'm ready to be in it and not working on it, but with the metal going up I can finally see a light in the tunnel. Might be the end, but most likely it's just the train.

Anyway, Sunday we had a solid day. Only hiccup was a trip into town to get more cut-off wheels. West end is closed up, north side is about 70%. Got it to the manway door And had to stop there to install the door.

On to the pics.

Gonna have to get with the electric company about getting some juice back there. Closing out all the dsylight. Also gotta get the lean-to going to make sure that backside stays dry.

I like my back side dry. When we having a party out there?

Thanks guys. Definitely gonna have to have a good bon-fire BS session once we get it all buttoned up.

@tkinze been studying up on them. I set the ceilings @ 10' to try and deter me, but already found a couple that would fit. I think Rocky said he was gonna have one installed at his place later this year, gonna have to pick his brain for a little advice.

There are some lifts that will clear lower ceilings...but the rub is that they generally don't lift the vehicle that high off the ground, from some of the ones I've seen in the searches and stuff I've looked at.

The one I am looking at is a bendpak xpr-9. 9,000# capacity 113" tall, max lift height is 76".

The issue isn't how high the actual lift rises, but how high can it lift before it puts the rig thru the ceiling. The cruiser with rack is probably 5' +/- from frame to top of the rack, so in theory I could lift the frame up to 5 feet so axle and suspension service would be ok. Just couldn't stand straight up under the truck. it's way down the list, but I have been looking into it anyway.

yes I follow that....while I did not spell all that out..but yea at max height some lifts may not get the truck 3 foot off the ground. I would want the vehicle 6+ feet off the ground ...where a 6 foot tall person can walk underneath.. I'm guessing you need 12ft or more clearance at the roof line of the shop.

Yeah, most lift companies I have looked at recommend 12'-14' ceilings so you can get full lift height.

Hey Jynx, if you would've started with rocky's doors you coulda save a pot full of dollars. :smokin:

Speaking of doors, got the back door framed in today. Finished the back except for the corner. While I was working on the door Erin got the East end wainscoting up. Tomorrow gonna try to button up the corner and get the upper half of the east end done. That will get 3 sides closed in and maybe try to get the other manway in and trimmed and see how far down the front we can get.

Forgive the ghetto foil job along the top, my failed attempt to try and keep the water out. Tomorrow should find a more permanent fix until the lean-to goes up.

And the boss hanging a little art out front to mark her territory.

Good to hear about the little one. Sorry I didn't see your response, we were there all day but when we leave, generally don't look at the phone unless it rings. I'll text you tomorrow and maybe we can get together this weekend.

We hit it hard again on Sunday and when we left we were closed in on 3 sides. Hoping the wind doesn't blow too much in on the front as that faces south. But both ends and the back are closed up with the exception of some corner pieces. They are calling for rain on saturday, but hoping we can get the other manway door in and skin what we can of the front. if it is raining much I will just work on getting the garage doors installed since I think I can do that mostly in the dry. Anyway here are the pics.

I got some aluminum flashing across the back so I should have that sealed up til the lean-to goes up.

And inside:

So we are about there, next major deal is getting with MTEMC about electricity to the back so we can have some lights out there.

Cheers
