Not bad. Is that dark blue or green? Hard to tell in that pic. Miles on the rest of the truck are higher than what I am looking for and trying to avoid a tan interior but otherwise looks pretty good. List looks like like you maintain it well. Could you PM me a rough idea what you are looking to get for it?

I am going to keep looking for something closer to what I want but I will definitely keep this one under consideration.

It is green with tan interior. I don't have a price for it since I didn't plan to sell. I don't have to sell but will sell if the price is right. PM me an offer if you think you can convince me to sell.

Nah, you have been around forever. You would be miserable without an 80 and I can wait for the right truck for me. Thanks though.

There is actually something better than 80 out there, so I doubt I would be miserable :). Good luck with your search. The right one will pop up at the right time. Please post pictures of your new 80 when the right time arrives.

What is better than an 80 other than a jeep? They are good but I've had my fill of Chrysler reliability. Every one I've had has been a turd.
I've also had an 84 Range Rover with a stick and lockers that was actually pretty good off-road but it was broken more than it was working and it was a pretty nice one.

I know these are ~20yrs old so they will have issues but Chryslers are poor even when new from my experience.

I don't see much of anything else that has the off-road flex of an 80 or a jeep. I think an 80 is about the only off-roader I haven't tried yet.

Well, actually Unimogs are fantastic but they are too big and extremely hard to find good ones in the US. Plus they are mega $$$.

G-wagons are really good off-road with a few mods but considering the going rate of those I would be afraid to take it out much further than the driveway for fear of scratches.

The 80 just seems like just the right mix of capability size and value. Jeeps are too small for me. 80's are a great size, have factory lockers, solid axle and coils front and rear, easy to mod, and are cheap enough that even on a nice one you won't want to vomit if a tree branch scratches it. Plus they are just old enough that you can still fix them mostly cheaply yourself.

No experience on Jeep. My 80 is a DD, there are better vehicles for that.

Oh, that I could definitely agree with. I've honestly never enjoyed anything 4x4 as a DD. It always seems like the more capable something is off-road the worse it is on road. I'd rather have a nice low fast cruising comfortable sedan for a DD any day.

The 80 rides a lot better than the jeeps though it's just a bit slow. Newer range rovers are really nice as a DD, super comfortable and well mannered on the road and with the right tires still pretty damn capable off-road but they are big $$ and you need even deeper pockets to bail it out of the shop every month.

I haven't driven the newer land cruisers, how are the 100 and 200's? They seem from specs anyway to sacrifice a little off-road capability for improved on road manners and comfort.

1989 FJ62 Landcruiser from AZ/West coast that runs and drives great (daily driver) and is rust free with the original 2 tone paint. Truck has 249,000 miles but these are known to routinely go many, many more. Transmission was replaced a few years ago with one from another 1989 but with only 130,000.
Highlights:
2.5 inch OME lift from Australia (not the current ones from Malaysia)
Falcon Wildpeak AT tires with 90% tread
Newer battery
Tilt
Automatic trans
4.0 fuel injected straight six that runs superb!
Bilstein shocks
Good heat, AC needs a small charge (uses Freeze 12 now)
Aftermarket stereo and speakers
Transfer case, lockouts, 4x4 system in excellent working order
Some minor dings and dents here and there.

Perfect if you are looking for a classic to either restore or drive and one that is not rotted out and can be driven right now anywhere. Just drove up to Flagstaff last week round trip of over 8 hours.

Maybe they reset it when they switched it to 2WD. What year did the odometers switch to digital? Since you ran a carfax were you able to determine if it has lockers?

I think they changed in 98 to digital.

I was running it for someone and I stopped at the carfax once I saw the discrepancy and didnt look on the build sheet.

I looked at a 2002 Sequoia that had different mileage than stated. It's probably possible to just swap the instrument clusters. The owner acted confused when I asked about it. Sure :D
