A 2UZ will absolutely run fine on pretty much any oil you pour into it.
Don't fret about the oil and get on with life.

I have been on 0-w20 for the last 100000km. If anything I think if has helped with fuel economy =]
I am in canada though hottest it ever gets here is around 30 degrees celsius. Its an average -1 here now during winter and I think it has helped greatly at morning startups

I would not encourage anyone to run a 20 wt oil.
If you want good cold start, why not just run a 0w-30?
It's the same cold start-up viscosity but more adequate for OEM spec.
When someone states "whatever oil", I don't think this 20w was not intended.
However, if you only ran short trips and never got the oil up to temp, that might not be a bad oil.
