Sweet! Home away from home... Or better yet home. Nicely built. I like how they left the rear doors for family travel. There was a very similar HJ60 camper for sale in Ottawa a few months back. One day...

Saw a nicely equipped late model 4Runner on Limited on 93 north in Somerville yesterday.

^^^ The 4runner looks good. Wouldn't catch me in the woods with a truck that expensive.

That's a really odd thing to say in your position.

Your 80 cost more than that. I've wheeled with him before. Guy named Billy from T4R.org. Te 4runner group is nice but you guys are better.

I paid $4700 for my 80....Not $45k... I am up to $13.5k total to date for everything.

That Runner in the pic is $45k plus all the aftermarket. Prob. 50-55k total.

That's a big big difference IMO.

His is more like 34k. Which I was comparing to a price of a new 80 back in the day. And your right wheeling and almost brand new truck vs something old.

A back in the day comparison isn't quite fair. I'm sure he wouldn't have taken the 80 back in the woods 20 years ago. In 20 years I'd wheel that 4Runner assuming there is any place left to wheel.

I wheeled mine when it was 5 years old.

That's crazy Chris. You where pimpin on the trail back in the day. Yuppie wheeler in those days.

A couple years back when I got the 80 I almost felt bad about using such a "newer" truck to wheel. Newer gen. parts are just too much $ to replace when it breaks. The 80 is bad enough paying for way higher priced aftermarket parts compared to old 4runner's/mini's.

On a side note IMO in 20 yrs we will still be building 97 and older Toyota's. And for the newer one's, SAS will be a must. Even the 80 is a little heavy on the electronics end but the 1970's and 80's 4runner's, 60's, 40's etc will always be ideal.

It was beautiful when I got it. Too nice to wheel. I was so cautious. Didn't want to dent or damage it. HA now look at me. I'm a crazy man on the trail. Landing on jeeps and stuff. Crazy !

I just bought a 85 runner. Have not wheeled her yet but i hope she compares to 80 wheeling wise

You obviously don't have wife. I refuse to even add up what I've spent. That way when anyone asks me I can say I don't know.

HAHAHA. My lady doesn't bother me much about it. Only when I make big purchases that are obvious when they come in the mail..lol. I keep all my receipts and decided to add them up recently. Oh well. Seems like a lot I guess but I figure if I HAD to sell I could get $10k hopefully. That's not a huge loss.

The Engo outperformed the comparable Warn in a magazine test. I would expect nothing else.

Not far, Goffstown. But this followed us home.
No more sleeping on the ground!

Looks like an old person's rig to me . . .

Me want ;)
