Install a 3FE which we should have by the end of this week. (will start a build thread once we get going)
Once it runs make sure the running gear is sound. (supposedly the transmission just had $4k worth of work done) but he also told us there was a light knocking sound coming from the engine...when we got there the wrist pin was on the ground and there was a fist sized hole in the back of the block, the crankshaft had split in two places...so we'll see.

Install (2) early 90's tacoma seats since we have them already and they are in good shape.
Clean up some of the surface rust and a couple of patches under the rear doors.
Weld up some sliders, fender, and rear 1/4 protection.

End goal is sprung over on 36"-38" tires clean it up and wheel it until there isn't a straight body panel. Cut/Tube... buggy

The frame appears to be solid...couldn't find any soft spots and at some point in the past it had been undercoated.

Cool acquisition Scotty. Have fun with it.

If all else fails on the rebuild just might go this direction...

Love the guy working under the hood while blasting away!

Took the cruiser down to Wareham fly fishing. Didn't get a pic of the 15" brookie, but I did shoot this...

Anyone else going to this tonight. Russ and I will be there along with a couple other friends.

Trailer with 8,000 pound GVW with usable load of 5,900. Sound good?

Not sure. I would guess 6k. But the uhaul trailers that I rented were rated a lot less. The one I used for the FG was only rated for 4k. Seemed to handle the weight of the 80 fine.

Just make sure you aren't overloaded. If you get into an accident your fault or not it could be trouble. Why chance it.

You can buy a new 18 footer for less than $3K and have the safety and capacity you require. Haul a few junk cars to the scrapper and you will have paid for it in no time.

Just don't mistake your 80 for one of the junkers :whoops:

Don't know if we should be aggravated by this but I have had a few folks point out that ACC Toyota has newly coined their old event "The ACC Fall Invitational" To the "Fall Gathering".

I think it sort of stinks that they did this. I understand we don't own the phrase "Fall Gathering" and that there's many different non off road events around the country that use this term but since they are both off road events and both in the Toyota genre and on the east coast it just aggravates me a bit.

I would kindly send a letter first. Then if they don't oblige
