I have one maybe from YT member Gary coming from VT at this point.

Rick S, one of the newest YT members, and I are out wheeling once or twice every week. We'd be happy to bring some of you along. Isn't there any interest? What are you guys doing every week, just wrenching and surfing Mud?

There will be a couple private property runs coming up next month in the same area. I hope it won't be just a bunch of Heeps and 1 or 2 Toyotas again.

I wanna go...just need to get out of the garage.

1981 BJ42 For Sale - Montreal

Seen this one yet? It is beyond what I want to get into at the moment, but maybe someone else is more ambitious with deeper pockets.

Toyota : Land Cruiser BJ42 Toyota : Land Cruiser BJ42 | eBay

I contacted our Canadian friends, David and Eric, about it. They are not impressed. On the other hand, they already have nice diesel LandCruisers.

Here's some pix. BJ42 pictures by fulljam - Photobucket

Here's some comments if you have a translating software. Est-ce que je serais gagnant??? - www.quebec4x4.com

It is a 4 speed. It looks like the buyer should plan on replacing the frame and all the body mounts along with some floor work. I'm not sure that should scare anyone away at the price. Cruiser Parts lists a sandblasted frame for $1800.

If you doubled the cost of the truck in doing the restoration yourself, I would think you would be ahead in the long run based on what restored 2F trucks go for and what unrestored roadworthy diesel models bring.

Sorry to hear that. See you next time. We are in that area quite a bit. We wouldn't mind hooking up with you and your friends over in VT for some fun on either side of the river.

The other day a friend of mine was telling me about a "old Jeep" that was in the woods, a guy he knew told him about it. So this afternoon we went wheelin and then for a hike. We almost walked by it the jeep turned out to be a 1970 fj40! Sorry shape yes, floors long since gone back to mother earth, tree sitting in the cowl rear floor gone. The good, split hood with a spear in fair to good shape! front 60/40 seat in pretty good shape vinyl is really soft? Who would know. I didn't bring my phone to get any pics, but I am going back withthe gator, tools, sawsall and getting as much as i can off it. ignition switch is still in it and clean and shiney. The 1965 45 I picked up is missing a ton of inside parts, switches,so I can clean up.
So the guy that my friend knows, knows who owns the property and told him to take what you want, take the whole thing it has been there as long as he remembers. So we are set.

Uhaul trailer for my 80 for long distances? They are rated at 5290lb. When I punch in my setup in Uhaul website it says it can haul it. But I figure my 80 weighs 6000lb. Don't think it will handle it.

The uhaul trailers have surge brakes I think and they are usually not in the best shape brake wise, be careful using one.

You could always try to find someplace where there are a set of truck scales and weigh the 80 up, some truck stops have Cat scales or a scrap yard cost you probably 10 - 20 bucks

Russ' trailer is an old uhaul and I towed an 80 back from Maryland with it without an issue.

Somehow my daughter Zoe ended up in a Jeep.

On a better note, I may be entering the Flipper hall of fame with a potential FJ / Desoto trade deal. Don't want to jinx it so knock on wood.

It was at daycare....obviously I didn't buy it. C'mon.....
