My wife had issues when I bought cruiser stuff also. It was like I was steeling from her even though it was money I earned. Luckily that has changed and she now realizes that my happiness and her's are symbiotic to one another and I'm pleased to say life is good!
Her caveat is that I'd better drive this one a LOT more then the last one ... which is were we agree. I also remind her she has forbidden a motorcycle and this is my consolation prize
It's all good. My wife is a saint, and I wouldn't trade her for anything, but she can be a total tightwad sometimes.
I need to figure out what I can get for the 35-12.5-15 BFG AT's and wheels. They are in good shape, plenty of tread, a few scars and some weathering, but nothing major.
Springs for the 80 arrived today...picking up the springs from John for the troopy later this week, hopefully...guess spring has really sprung here at my house... sorry couldn't resist.

I'm looking for street tire recommendations for my minitruck.
I think I'm heading to two sets of tires/wheels.
Ideally, I'm thinking 35x10.5 or 9.5. I'm flexible on rim size. The problem of course, is those sizes aren't street tire sizes. I'd give the Toyo Open Countrys a shot, but the 35s are 12.5 wide.
Nate's more fun to make fun of if he'd show up once in a while so he knows you're making jokes about him.....
He's supposed to show up and say, "Hey! All the engines I rebuilt worked fine. I just never changed the oil. But I thought about it. Yeah, I thought about it a bunch. And then my engine blew up. And sometimes I like to eat sand."
My kid got me up at 2 am and I've been awake ever since. Gonna be a long day. Have to send a big check to the tax man so you can imagine the mood I'm in.
I nearly shed a tear dropping our Fed and State tax payments in the mailbox today. Due to some poor estate planning on behalf of my MIL we got hammered by the IRS.

I want this size for my FJ45 too. I will probably end up going with SSR swamper radials in that size. Randy used to run them and liked them. Also I think he has a contact to deal directly with Interco.

Yeah, the SSRs seem pretty cool. I could see myself going that route, and I might.
The idea is not compromising (with this vehicle for everything); a set for the street, and a set for the not-street. I'm thinking IROKs or TSL/SXs for where the sidewalk ends. That's the easy part if you're not counting money.
The real no compromise solution is a car for the street, and a real nice saddle for Her Majesty's Viking, but until I can swing it, the two tire solution is what I'm thinking, not that I can afford it.
Boggers have their place of course, that being the indication to roll eyes. Funny they make a narrow Bogger.
Why am I thinking tires when my exhaust, driveshaft, tranny, xfer case, and of course tires are shot?
My junk is busted.
Good thing I can fall back on my devastatingly good looks. [bats eyelashes]
I would love to buy don't have the extra scratch for it. Figured that I should probably lift it, do the PS conversion and install the H55 I have sitting in the garage. That should sufficiently drain the extra cash the wife doesn't know about.
I go to the bank to have checks drawn to pay my taxes due (first time I've ever had to pay) Of course I'm in a rotten mood. A nice little 85 yr old old guy comes into the bank waving a check over his head.
He yells out that "I won the lottery. I'm worried the bank doesn't have enough $$$ to pay up because I want it in cash." I seriously considered mugging him in the parking lot.
I was happy for the guy but the gods seem to be kicking me in the balls lately.
really, I always thought that is was an abomination of a knock off. But then again I still don't know why anyone would hamstring an original one with some chevy engine.
I would buy 7 cruisers, one for every day of the week, for the same $$$ as one of those ICON's. They are sweet but it's just an overpriced showpiece that sucks the soul out of Land Cruiser life
