It's his property that he is clearing, what does that have to do with Tread Lightly?
I believe Tread Lightly covers both private and public lands.

Smoke any pot lately? Holy crap.

No, are you offering?

What does that have to do with the fact that I care about the Earth we temporarily inhabit and need to care for so our grandchildren may also enjoy? Or are you being stereotypical because I called myself a hippie?

By the way hops and cannabis- its all in the same plant family- Cannabaceae. Check it out.

Chris you are correct when it comes to trail runs but you can do as you wish on self owned property. Its all good, pretty sure the horse is good and dead...

Must be the Old Timer's, but I thought it was "Shred Lightly". Maybe I'm thinking about cole slaw, not food plots on private property?

There's a fine line between a food plot for animules and a pot plot for personal enjoyment but I think it is possible for both to share the same earth.

nice follow up on the tread lightly EG!

Winch VS Old Deck

On another note, the Saint and I are embarking on a huge home improvement project to update the homely inside and out. Traditionally, I usually agree to this type of stuff just before we move out, so we never get to really enjoy it ourselves before moving on.

The north side of the house is about 30 feet from the woods and there was some bad moisture damage that needed repair. We wound up replacing all 42 feet of the sill plate, 2' or more of the sheathing and the bottom sections of many wall studs. We will be replacing all the clapboards up to about 8' this week and are putting in new french doors on the exterior of the family room. I'm the gopher for my contractor, a fellow YT member. He works faster and better than I do, but it's a fun project to work with a friend like that. God and the Saint know that it would never get done if left up to me alone. Too many vehicle projects to waste time on the home.

Anyhoo, I decided to remove the old deck by myself. Rick figured a day for that, it took me less than 2 hours. Here's the final seconds after it was hooked up to the $12K T-Max on the front of the FJC. It went remarkably well.

Thanks Kina! As you said, that's a nasty carbon footprint trucking the Canadian trees all the way to CT and even farther south. Especially after they throw them out and they go to the transfer station for "disposal". Do they burn them or make them into OSB or air freshers these days? You would think all states would grow and cut their own trees to avoid trucking them in, but there's probably a regulation or ordinance against cutting local trees.

As an aside, an AR will top the tree for you while keeping the lower trunk and branches intact and growing if you don't wish to sacrifice the whole tree.

I finally got my tree up this year. Fir and spruce are the best esthetically, but I've always loved the smell of pine. :hillbilly:

Actually those trees that are on semis being trucked to CT (kinda weird that we are the only state they go to?) are grown specifically for use as Christmas trees and for each tree cut another is planted. Here in CT there are no regulations about cutting Christmas trees. Surprised you never heard about it in NH but there are people that have turned old farmlands (potfarms?) into tree farms. They actually continually plant Christmas trees yearly adding more oxygen to the environment and helping to offset the carbon footprint. Did I mention that the small caliper trunks are cut with handsaws? I personally support these local farmers yearly, cut discs from the trunks to paint as Christmas ornament presents for the next year and then it goes outside for the rabbits to hide from the bobcat. But next year I plan to plant 20 or so mixed evergreens for our own little tree farm. I encourage everyone to do the same.

And those other plants? CT potheads that I know usually find a nice sunny patch near a water source not attracting attention by clearing... ill gladly share either of my harvests with my NH bretheren. Hell I'll even throw a tank of my neighbors finest bioblend into my diesel vdub and deliver! That is if I can find that roach so I can put the steering wheel back on!

Poor horse...

For years my FIL has grown christmas trees in the back yard. He has about a dozen large ones and some seedlings. For the past 9 years we have been getting one from his place. We plan on keeping up the tradition when we move up there. Some have gotten a little too big since we are now the only ones taking them but you take a little off the bottom or top and throw some decorations on them it they look awesome. This years it the best we ever had.

I am so confused. I thought Shred Lightly was meant for those knuckle draggin, skier hittin, pot smokin snowboarders to stop throwin granola bar wrappers and bent up pieces of aluminum foil from the charlifts?

And unless your name is Ronald McDonald its all good to cut a few trees down in the name of bacon and steaks, just bring some grain fed beef to FG13!

Now off to the recycling center to get some of last years Christmas tree mulch to heal in my asparagus... may have to stop and get a reuben first to fulfill this sudden craving...

Happy Kwanzaa hippsterz! Love you all...

but the truck part, Josh!, it is weird they only go to CT.....

my 75 yrold neighbor loves to tell how on my property here in NH there were "no trees" back when she was a kid, just all cleared pastureland.
bet you cant find where i cut xmas trees for the last 14 years now though....

I love you, man

um....OK, deal, trucking trees north, ha!

That is if I can find that roach so I can put the steering wheel back on!

Use the fork, Luke!

Poor horse...

get it, oh yeah:deadhorse:oooh that feels good

Truck part, I fully agree... if people would support their local farmers, not Sam Walton!

Its good you're keepin the tradition alive with the next generation, I cut ours with Scarlette this year with the same handsaw my great grandfather used annually for to harvest their tree from the family farm. Ironic part is a few acres of that farm is now a Christmas tree farm! Kinda makes sense to bring that saw there next year... thank you dead horse for putting two and two together!

Truckin trees to NH... I know there are plenty of all kinds up there, just wanted to bring my offering to fill up the peace pipe...

And the fork... Brilliant! I never thought to use a fork as a roach clip! Fits perfectly between the two prongs and the handle is long enough so as not to burn my fingers! Extra bonus? I can eat my non GMO organic cheetos (kinda wish they made those!) with it when I'm done!

Keener I can't quote your quote! But I just want to add that I did personally witness that you planted enough trees this year to offset your 14 Christmas trees! I hope you've been enjoying the rewards....

Schweet! Always dreamed of the 4wheel drive version of this for my future landscrape company! Dood says it dumps a load of shingles just fine.... just hope the road to the dump is all downhill...
