I have two of these that bought 20 years ago for $35 each. The last time I saw them online, it was some guy selling one on eBay for over $200.

German army, made in the early 60’s, 100% wool. These things are beasts, weighing something like 8lbs each.

Just bought two more.

Speak of the devil. Mine showed up already. Made in 1965.

FYI: they are all printed with “BundesEigentum” (“Army Property”) across the top and bottom. I actually like that because it’s easier to find the longest portion when I’m about to bed down in the back of my truck.

They’re scratchy, but not as much as the US blanket I have. Washing them in cold water with Downey softens them up a bit, but i mostly use them under and on top of my sleeping bag, so it’s a non-issue for me.

I got out 20 years ago and still have a few of the US made ones.

Sleep with one every night and you get used to them pretty quick.
