OK, so purchase price $1250, that leaves me with $14750 to spend on my truck, the things I could do, hell for that I'll just drop it off and let somebody else do all the work. I just have to show my wife that it will be worth it when it's done (think she'll go for it?)....................................no
 
The way I look at it you can spend the money up front or over time with worry, repairs, and upgrades. There was a '62 w/ 55k original miles that just went for $22K on Ebay. This one has 98k? Why not buy the nicest cruiser you can afford and spend time making it perfect (if that's what you want) rather than repairing rust and fixing mechanicals. Now the $16k cruiser looks like a $5k vehicle but the $17k cruiser may be in the ballpark (OK a little high). It depends weither you want a clean DD or something to wheel. I personally enjoy the process and getting my hands dirty but I find that time is more and more against me.
