The 90K refresh is on. Things done in the last two months:

Was unlucky enough to have a sun roof leak during those heavy storms in December in NorCal and we hadn't been driving the cruiser. So, the carpet sat and got soaked through in the front and middle row. mold set in, and the carpet had to go. Man, fresh carpet and new mats sure makes a nice difference. Especially after the cruiser had been the family vehicle for so many years. 3 kids and food/drink sure take a toll on the carpet.

My wife had put a few dents in the rear bumper. nothing major. all self inflicted stuff. which is alway hard to figure out when we DO have a backup camera....also had a small dent in the tailgate as a result. So went with a new OEM bumper and fixed the dent in the tailgate. had to go through insurance and decided not to deal w/ an aftermarket bumper....largely because I can't decide on a tire swing out or no.

She also had a pretty decent dent in the front bumper. So today, on goes the slee front bumper. Well, at least I'll start it. pics below and more notes to come.

Lastly, I had the VAIS bluetooth/music streamer installed. Sure is nice to be able to play music from Pandora on my car and at least control the next track from the steering wheel. While I was at it, I alway hated that stupid little radio control center in the back of the center console. It only encouraged the kids to change my radio stations...always at the best part of my songs. So dumped it in favor of two USB ports for charging the kids phones on long drives.

Backup cameras only help if you look at 'em...

No write up on the usb ports?!

well, i figured I'd devote my time where i knew what i was doing. I'm good at bolt off, then bolt on. So doing the slee bumper install myself. But I outsourced the USB port install. Sorry guys. I'm not much help on the electrical stuff.

Looking good. That dent on the front bumper must have been a lick as it is a pretty stout bumper.
Hopefully, the new vehicle you found for your wife is replete with park assist!

What did they charge for that? was thinking about getting something similar to that done in my LX...

$170 in labor for the Vais bluetooth install and the usb ports. around here in NorCal, that's not bad.

OK, the test fitting is done. Now I could use some advice on painting. The slee instructions suggest painting this white "lip" underneath the valance as indicated in the photo below. But what do you all think about painting the whole area just below the grill and basically everywhere right above the bumper. it's about a 1/2 inch. would of course paint it black. See pics below. thx

my test fitting pics and thinking through what to paint black or not?

ok. point of no return. black it is. prepped for paint, and first coat is on.

all done! no winch for the time being.

Don't forget to check for clearance between the bumper and that lower trim. Otherwise it'll squeak and drive you crazy.

X2. Mine started to squeak but only occasionally, long after it was installed. Bumper barely hitting lower trim. Was easy to remedy but hard to diagnose.
