Guys, I'd like to thank you for your support, but I have had a change of heart and have withdrawn my name from the ballot for TLCA Admin VP.

The divisive political tactics of a few vocal individuals is turning service as an elected officer into such a miserable experience that soon no one will be willing to subject themselves to the abuse. For me it was getting close to the point where I resented making the sacrifices necessary to do the job. If I had stayed, my attitude towards the national organization would quickly turn negative to the point of not being willing to serve a complete term and I might have ended up leaving the national organization soured to the point of no return. I did not want to let it go that far, so I decided to bow out now to minimize disruption to the organization and to preserve my sanity.

For me, our local Cruiser community is much more important and worthwhile. I plan on focusing more time on the Raffle Truck (as well as finishing my own project). That portion of the Cruiser community who support things like the raffle truck build are really more important to me and ultimately to the organization. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meetings, tech days, HAM days, social gatherings and activities, and of course on the trails.

Thanks again for your support!

Jon

I figured this was going to happen with everything thats been going on the bodreps and on here. Its a shame it had to end like it did. I know you worked hard with what you were given. I think a lot has to change before it will get better. Thanks for the job you did.

StaleAle, I was reading (catching up) on the multitude of BODreps emails and saw your post this morning. Figured I better come here and see if you had announced it to the CLCC members, for their awareness.

Thank you for your efforts to serve the TLCA and move the association in a positive direction--in numerous aspects.

I have no doubt that you'll continue to be active and serve with a positive influence within the chapter locally. And after all is said and done, the local clubs and personal contacts are what really matter in any association.

Thanks guys!

On the one hand, I hated to drop out and let the b-tards have a free run, but I saw no end in sight. Maybe someday their local clubs will get wise and vote them off the BOD, until then nothing will change.

John, I respect you even more for having made this difficult decision. I admire your principles, and am glad you chose not to endanger them any further by staying in that environment.:)

Welcome back!

Sounds like more time to get ready more MOAB trip.
