Guys, I'd like to thank you for your support, but I have had a change of heart and have withdrawn my name from the ballot for TLCA Admin VP.
The divisive political tactics of a few vocal individuals is turning service as an elected officer into such a miserable experience that soon no one will be willing to subject themselves to the abuse. For me it was getting close to the point where I resented making the sacrifices necessary to do the job. If I had stayed, my attitude towards the national organization would quickly turn negative to the point of not being willing to serve a complete term and I might have ended up leaving the national organization soured to the point of no return. I did not want to let it go that far, so I decided to bow out now to minimize disruption to the organization and to preserve my sanity.
For me, our local Cruiser community is much more important and worthwhile. I plan on focusing more time on the Raffle Truck (as well as finishing my own project). That portion of the Cruiser community who support things like the raffle truck build are really more important to me and ultimately to the organization. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meetings, tech days, HAM days, social gatherings and activities, and of course on the trails.
Thanks again for your support!
Jon
