Our 2025 GX Overtrail is on a boat headed over as we speak. I wanted Incognito, but the wife wanted her to go to Pearl White; in the end, she won out, lol. Excited to have one in the garage here in the next 4-7 weeks and I am glad that we waited for the improvements on the '25 MY. We will have the front wrapped in PPF, as I know all too well how easily the paint chips on these Lexus/Toyota vehicles. The wife wants the roof wrapped in a high gloss Piano Black as well to resemble the two-tone factory option available on damn near every color but white, which I find very odd.

Does anyone have factory all-weather floor mats? I can't get a straight answer from the salesman on whether or not they come standard on the OT models. I don't see them as an option aside from the one in the cargo area, but I don't see them listed anywhere in the standard equipment either. If not, I plan to order a set of Husky mats, and I need to look into some cargo plastic protection for when we travel with the dogs. Any suggestions in that regard would be greatly appreciated.

I won't be messing with the suspension or bumpers on this one right out of the gate like I am known to do, but I will be watching builds to get ideas for the future. So please don't tempt me too hard in that department lol.

Glad you got one! I really like mine.

My OT+ came with the all weather mats, front and second row only. I had to purchase the rear mat.

I was in the same mindset as you and wasn't going to modify it.. didn't last long...

What all have you done?

So far:
arb mt64 shocks
Trail hunter upper arms from the 4runner
Made billet rear lower control arms that use 200 series bushings
Toyo at3 275-70r18 E load tires
Lexus air compressor, yours should come with it
Wrapped it

I have scanned the underside and started designing skids, hoping to replace the front crossmember along with the front ekkds bracket. (Both pretty weak) I want oil filter and drain access like the 200 series skids.

Looks great! Well you know I loved your 200 skids, I'd be tempted to get them for the OT if you come up with a set.

How’s the ride on the MT64s vs factory? What all did you gain height wise?

That thing is pretty sexy. For a Lexus :hillbilly:

The ride is much better than the factory AVS shocks. Raised the front up about 2 inches, with 1 perch left to go up higher if I want. With the tires, which are a little bigger than the OEM Toyos, there is 12" of clearance under the front skid. They also increased wheel travel by about 2 inches too.

On full droop, in the front, the OEM upper arm would hit the spring. The 4runner trail hunter\TRD upper arms have more clearance and the spring clears now.

The GX arrived at the dealer this evening, and we are going to take delivery on Thursday. The wife is super excited! If we like it and keep it, maybe I'll make it my own when she's ready for another in about three years. Not gonna lie, the build with portals and 37's got my juices flowing, and now my mind is running with ideas down the line. I wish there were better aftermarket magnetic cell phone mounts on the market. I am not impressed with what I see out there.

Husky mats, Garmin X210 Dash Cam, Dongar Tech mirror harness, and Land Bully goodies already in hand. Picking her up in the morning so long as the weather and schedule play nice. I hate to say it, but the 33's look small with the new taller springs lol.

They are more like 32.5" tires. The OEM spec Toyo AT# tires are nerfed from the regular Toyo AT3. They have less tread depth and softer rubber. They are SL rated, which are better fuel economy, quieter and softer ride.

Once I blew one of the OEM tires on an easy trail I swapped them for 275/70r18 Toyo AT3s. These are 33.2" tall, 50lbs, and E-load rated.

Oh I agree, not the best, but the biggest and the best they've ever put on them. Baby steps!

We had one happy momma today. I dig how they incorporated the onboard air system. I hope it proves to be durable and reliable. Now the long road of figuring out the small annoyances begins lol. It's headed to my wrap guy in a few weeks for PPF, ceramic and Piano Black on the roof and A-pillars.

I threw a post up in the GXOR subreddit, and I couldn't believe the hate it received. Calling my wife a poser, making fun of it being a mall crawler, etc. That's not the Toyota crowd I remember, kind of blown away by how douchey and beta-cuck the atmosphere was in the comments. One dude saying he'd smash on my wife, absolutely insane response.

That sure sucks. I've avoided venturing into GXOR Reddit/Facebook as I more or less quit social media (outside of our course forums) the better part of a decade ago. Most of the internet seems to be a cesspool these days.

I have been off of FB since 2014, and I don't miss anything about it. IG has its issues, but I use it for products and travel suggestions. Reddit has some great subs for solid info on niche subjects, but I didn't expect a 17-year-old mentality from the masses like that. Sad to see that the Jeep bros have infiltrated the Lexus world.

I’ve noticed a bit of this myself with the 550 being the new hot to trot vehicle in the 4wd space. Honestly liked the GX more when it was a “IYKYK” thing.

I find it rather comical that guys with clapped out 470's are s*** talking a picture of my wife proudly standing next to her brand new vehicle. So sorry it's not scratched up and coming down Black Bear on 37's lol. Once these old 4WD's get abused enough and cheap enough for the cheap beer redneck crowd, it instantly drives down the class of the enthusiast group.

Hey now. Not all of us folks in older 470s are low-class rednecks. Some of us like a reliable and capable 4x4 that's cheap enough to use without fear of scratching it (and I sure use mine a lot). Although, I'm a generation older and a couple of rungs higher in educational attainment and tax bracket than the folks you are referring to :).

Or, maybe we can all be a little less judgmental :).
