Competing life priorities (expedition to Mt. Kilimanjaro in Dec) are causing me to consider selling my 1980 FJ40. Many of you in the CLCC are familiar with it and the various upgrades I've done. A non-exhaustive list includes (big-ticket work done at Iron Pig):

-Vintage Air AC
-FJ60 power steering kit
-Serpentine kit
-New American Racing wheels plus spare
-New BFG AT tires plus spare
-New 700R4 automatic transmission
-New stainless steel exhaust
-New rear-mounted fuel tank
-Tuffy lockable center console
-All new lenses (turn signals, etc)
-Skid plate
-New bits and pieces inside and outside
-Stainless bolt kit

Other info:
-Chevy small-block V8 350 conversion
-Odometer reads 99045, unsure whether that's the first time around
-Purchased in 12/10, very limited documentation prior to that date
-Includes CCOT cover
-Clear title in-hand
-Current Virginia safety inspection
-AIM pre-purchase inspection report from 11/10 (before the upgrades)

I don't expect to get much return on that money spent, but I hope that someone out there can make a reasonable offer. It's completely mechanically sound, and the only things left to make it perfect are addressing a rust bubble on each front fender. I've taken it to car shows and on the trail, and it excels at both. It has modern conveniences, but retains the old-school charm.

Plenty of other photos available upon request. Located near Manassas, VA. PM or text (five seven one-762-6095) for more info.

Fenders

I got a few preliminary estimates on repairing the rust issues on the fenders (~$400) or just replacing them outright (~$900). The rest of the body is 99% rust-free.

I didn't put an asking price yet, because I'm testing the waters. If pressed to list a price, I'd probably start in the low $20s, but I am a motivated seller.

Enjoy Kili. It's an amazing view. Was there 5 years ago. While you're there go stay at the Ngorogoro Lodge on the rim of the crater!

Gets your bids in. Auction ends on Sunday.
