Tesla style large display and control (1 Viewer)

Hey all! Has anyone installed something like this? I was looking at a new CarPlay head unit and my climate control buttons don’t work so great anymore so I was thinking of giving this a go. Don’t know how involved it would be and how well it would work.

There are a few threads on it. I think they look awful, but that's just personal preference. It seems like now that the T'eyes option exists (doesn't look like a hideous Tesla screen but has all the features), that's what everyone has been moving toward.

Just FYI, I was having issues with my buttons and there is a guy on eBay that sells a repair kit. I soldered the new buttons in for a grand total of 50 bucks. Just an option. Good luck!

What year is your vehicle? I don't suggest getting that particular style replacement with the full touch panel.....however the option below does seem to be an option unlike the others on the market and it appears to be a plug and play

Do some research on that link I sent . I don't think anyone has officially tried it yet but it seems to be a solid solution that is , maybe, plug and play. It seems to have decent Android hardware specs as well

I have successfully installed one of these in my '99. Absolutely 0 instructions, but it wasn't too hard to figure out. A ton of extra connections on the back of the unit that you won't use. I had deleted my factory amp a long time ago, so I had to get an amp to power the speakers as the unit doesn't have one built in.

So all the climate controls work well with at least all the same features? Possibly more? Climate control by temp? Rear climate? If you have any videos, that would be amazing!

Good timing with this thread. I purchased one of these from Seicane in late December and tried to install it last weekend. I was unsuccessful in getting much sound from it. So maybe it needs an amp. I have an amp, so I'll try again and report back
