So it's time for an update. I have been working on getting more of my 3D printed badges converted to aluminum. Here is the new (95-97)80 series/(98-02) 100 series TEQ grill badge. The batch I ordered came in today and they turned out great. Fitment is perfect. I could not be more pleased with the final product. This will only fit on the 98-02 100 series and not the 03+ and LX470 grills. Those are still in process of being converted. LX470 badges and 03+100 series badges SHOULD be available in late November IF I can get a loaner grill to finalize the last couple dimensions. 90% of the work on those designs is done.

So I got a fellow mudder who's going to work with me on the 03-05 Grill. So all I need is someone willing to work with me on the 06+ 100 series grill so I can develop and release the last two 100 series badges. Then I will focus on the LX470 badge. Right now I need to find out of the LX470 had different grills over the years or if they are all the same.

I believe the LX470 badge increased in size for 06-07. I have an '06 cruiser, but don't really want to part with my grill for an extended period of time. I'm guessing you can't just use the Toyota emblem? I could part with that...

I could use the emblem for 90%+ of the dimensions and get fitment REALLY close to perfect with just the emblem, but I could not get exact fitment until I had a grill to work off of. I would definitely take you up on the offer to use your emblem if your willing. I will need it for about a week.

It was 3M tape. Has two nipples to guide it on straight, but the tape holds it.

Interesting. If I'm not dealing with any tabs, screws, holes, hardware, etc. then the design should be pretty simple. I'm pretty sure I should be able to make this one without the grill. All I need to do is match that curvature on the back.

I would agree based on how it was attached. You'll see the two nipples I'm talking about, but again, I believe they are just there to guide it on straight. It in the mail and should be there Friday.

So I just finished up the design (prototype#1) on the 06+ 100 series TEQ grill badge. I just send it out to my machinist for a quote. I know that I will need to order at least 20 of these in order to make these affordable. They are quite a bit larger than any TEQ badge I have ever made. Most of my TEQ badges are in the 3-5" width range. This TEQ badge is almost 7" wide. Not sure how this will effect my cost to manufacture. I should know by tomorrow. My guess is that the price will be around $45 a piece. I need to know how many guys actually want one of these. I'm not looking for pre-orders/early payments. Just need to get an idea on how many orders there will be. I need to at least have 10 guys who want one before I can take the risk to buy 20 of these. Feel free to pm/start a conversation with me or post on this thread if you want one. I also need to know how many folks want one with the 03-05 grill. I will try to put in the order for both at the same time.

Only a couple of each is not real encouraging. I have to shell out well over a grand to put in an order of 20 of each of these. I don't want to be stuck with inventory for multiple years before I get my investment back. Is there any other takers? I can always put in a much smaller order but my cost gets up into the $50+ a piece range which may kill the interest of the few guys interested now. I will give it a few days before I figure out what to do. Hopefully we can get some more interest before I put a big charge on my credit card.

The rear hatch TEQ badge will work on all 100 series yotas and LX470's. The front badges are probably going to be specific to the yota or LX. I have an 03LX470 and will release TEQ badges for the LX450 and LX470 eventually. Hopefully I will be able to release those in late November or December. Do we have any more interest in the 03-05 TEQ grill badge and the 06-07 TEQ grill badge?
