Hey guys,

Looking at different threads and there seems to be different information floating.

if im looking to replace the tensioner assembly as a whole, putting in my vin number in partsouq, it showing 16620-0W100. When trying to find this part on the OEM part website, dealer site, theyre showing the newer version 16620-0W101.

Some people stated that its not a direct fit, different size pulley, and will have issues with the belt, while others stated it fits perfectly, and no issues with the belt.

Anyone has additional input on which way to go? I cant seem to find the 16620-0W100 other than resellers for a decent chunk,

I "think" the issue people have is putting the new, smaller pulley on the older tensioner assembly. If you replace the entire assembly, there should be no problem as they were designed to work together.... but don't hold me to it. I changed to the newer style like 10 years ago.

Maybe thats the case and i misunderstood. Just seemed alot of back and forth concerning this.

Feel free to bring it over to my place if you want a hand. It's a fairly quick job to replace the serp belt, idler and tensioner.
I might take you up on that. I'll shoot you a message when the parts arrive. I have the belt and tensioner assembly on the way. Didn't get an idler pulley.

So as far as i have it the tensioner pulley assembly 16620-0W036 was twice superseded to latest version 16620-0W101. The diameter of the pulley is clearly smaller than prior version. I dont see answer to question above and would like to know if one then requires a different serpentine belts size - when installing the newest tension?

Same belt
This weekend i replaced my tensioner assembly.

A new belt 90916-02596 - which is length 2240mm - did not fit my engine. This new belt is provided by my parts store (LC specialists) is basis my VIN number - and they swear its right one. When i stretched out the old belt next to the new belt they appear to be exactly the same lengths. The old belt still fits on the engine with the new tensioner assembly - as you said it would Hoser. Unfortunately the old belt is too worn to read it's part number. I'd like to replace the belt in case the old one with unknown years of service breaks. My guess is that the ribbing between the two is the problem - see photo - new belt 90916-02596 at the bottom with a more square/deep ribbing.

Should i just wing it and get a 2245mm or 2255mm belt? Or how to find right OEM belt?

The serpentine belt you purchased, 90916-02596, comes up as for RAV4's? You want to double check?

Should be <90916-02586> for 2001 LC.

I'm seeing 90916-02586 as the correct part number for the belt (2001LC). Edit, I see @hoser got there first.
