Telescoping poles? (1 Viewer)

I am working on an awning for the 80 and need to source some telescoping tent/tarp poles. I have tried Big5 Sports Authority, Wally World, and Rei without luck. There are some available on Amazon, any local sources I should check out?

I've had some success finding weird stuff on craigslist but I'm sure you've tried that I'd also try woodworkers source in tempe they have big kid crafty stuff, have you thought about aluminum or perhaps PVC/ABS pipe and drilling a series of holes through it and use a cotter pin?

Would a painters pole from your local hardware store work?

^ Great idea, they do make a fiberglass painters pole with a locking pin that adjusts every 6 inches. I have one and it seems pretty sturdy to me, I think it may work for you...

Try Bass Pro Shops - I know they have some of the fibreglass rods for tents there

They did still have those, just not what I was looking for partly because of how it extends and another part is that it is a $35 stick.

I have a couple sets of these poles made by Kelty. Aluminum, 25mm thick, adjustable and they are good quality & strong.
