Tecnical question. What protects the internal A/C Blower from rain.

I looking under my cowl top ventilator louver and the blower is completely exposed. Was something supposed to be here that was removed?

Can you take another pic a little further back so I can look at mine and compare

Ill take another pic tonight. It requires removing the cowl louver vent, the black thing between the hood and the windshield. Appreciate the effort.

$25 amazon gift card or paypal cash to anybody who can give me the part number of the piece that covers that air intake.

The previous pic is of the hole. This is the location of that pic, underneath the cowl louver vent cover. (black plastic piece with vents)

Ok, I'll look at mine later today

If picture #1 is directly under picture #2, then something definitely is wrong. Water would pour in.

exactly the problem im having!

I think the cowl should re-direct the water away, is there any sort of moulded duct on the underside of it? What's required to remove the cowl, I'll try to pull mine off tomorrow and see what's under there

Thanks for all your help guys. The Toyota of dallas parts department hooked me up with the pn. if any of you are in a garage right now unscrewing your cowl to get me a pn, Ill keep the deal going for two hrs from this post. just to be fair. send me a pm with the pn

Wouldn't it also be in the service manual? There is a link available in the FAQs section if remember right.

Didn't have time to pull the cowl off today, I've been meaning to in a long while as I usually find dried leaves in the ac filter so I'm sure a bunch must be stuck under that cowl.

Also did you try using toyodiy to check for the part numbers? You can enter your vin and access the full parts catalogue like the parts shops do. I managed to find the cowl p/n fairly quickly on there but the image in the diagram looked nothing like what the cowl looks like.

If you haven't used the site give it a try, it was a huge help to me in finding part numbers
