They are Cobras. Not sure on the model or the range(they are in Costa Rica) but I do remember they were under $100.

Thanks, I was just looking at the Cobra's

They are GE brand. We got them a long long time ago but only used them when we started wheeling. They also use a ton of batteries. They didn't work well even when they were plugged in the cigarette lighter or the other thingys that Paul put in.:D

Gotcha Jean thanks.

No homework involved >.< it was a birthday present. it is a hopefully decent Radioshack radio. Picked up the marine forcast just fine when I tried it out but I am too far from interstate to try and talk to anyone on the CB.

It is set up for an external antena, Just need to find one.

Has anyone on here done a leif over axel on a FJ 40 on here im a little bit curious about it

We don't have any in the club yet that I can think of. I am planning to do one on the 74 I have. There is a guy here in Lafayette that did the cut and turn SOA on his FJ60 and did a nice job. He has a machine shop here in the Broussard area Brian Carpenter. His info is in the sponsors thread in the forum. I also saved a few good articles over the years on doing it right.

Ok, my mind is blown twice: A CB wiht bluetooth, and it is pushing an antenna rated for 5K watts?

Is it doctored up any ? :D

did you check your SWR?

a CB is only as good as its match to the antenna no matter how many watts ya be a pushin

yeaa i did i bought the other cb as apackage, and i thing i jacked somthing up with the mic got held in for along time when it got caught in the seat, it only had range of half of mile it came with a swr meter , its like a 39.00 buck unit ,

I'm running this Cobra Cobra Electronics 18 WX ST II with SoundTracker® and NOAA Weather

and this antenna on the Toyota.Wilson 1000 Magnet Mount -CB Antennas - CB Radios Plus

The pull vehicle has the same CB but with the Wilson 5000 Magnetic Mount CB Antenna antenna. I am really pleased with the set up BUT the magnet mount on the Toyota has been getting knocked off way to many times by tree branches(And No Scott was not there ) on my last trip to HotSprings with it in the center off the roof. I actually had good luck when using a small Undien Uniden Bearcat PRO 538W CB Radio - $69.95 They are all tuned with a SWR meter .I have a set of hand held GE's, They SUCK!But they are also 20 years old.And they NEVER stay where I put them . Seems like it was always falling on the passenger floor where I could not reach it.

da meter on the radio is not an SWR it is a S/RF:)

Yea. But when I hook up the swr meter it pegs it no matter how I tune the antanna. And ihave a good ground and tryed two cabels. But I catch yall on the trail

what antenna ya have?

think fire stick[/QUOTE

make sure your shield "outer coaxial nut body" is grounded at the antenna base if not do it to it then adjust antenna SWR.

had a lot of trouble with Scott`s now have a 1.3 on CH1/ 1.45 On CH40.
not bad for a:ban: bumper mount:D

yea i tryed it earlyer, messing with it its grounded on my back door hinge and thers a ground wire coming off the whip ad thats grounded two , and it just pegs it and i tryed the cabel do u think could be a bad whip ?

Check the resistance across the the wire and the whip (continuity), and the wire and the ground (open).

Today somebody hit there horn at me and i heard it on my cb what is that all about? When i drive by someone with a loud truck i hear it on the cb to, what the :censor: is that all about:hmm:

Thanks I thought it might be easy but a buddy said i might get in overr my head, i always have my outstanding Dad but i hate taking up his shop space for to long to try and figure out things to do.
