Camping Facilities

What is there for camping facilities? Water, electric, sewer? Just trying to make plans. How many stock vehicles do you think will be there? (Just want to know if I'll be runnin stock trails by myself....)

Blue 60

I'm not sure on the camping facilities, but I'll have the family with me (if they go) so I'll be rockin' the mild trails as well.

There are camping facilities, electric is available, not sure of water, but doubt the sewage. Someone correct me if this is not true. Here is a link to the site where the event will be held. http://www.miobi.org/main.htm
There is a printable map of the area.
If you click on the registration form above for the event, you will see the pricing including camping fees.
Can't tell how many stock rigs will be there, but there will be runs for stock machines.

Inspection???

What is there for vehicle inspections? Is there one? If so, what are you generally looking for? New to this....

Blue 60

There is an inspection. Here is a list of the minimum requirements, and it's mainly for safety reasons as I'm sure you'll understand. PM me if you have any questions. Thanks for your interest!

1. Any open vehicle must have a roll bar firmly attached to the floor. A roll bar is recommended for
all vehicles.
2. Seat belts for all persons. Must be usable.
3. First aid kit.
4. Fire extinguisher, must show full charge and/or have the seal intact.
5. Tow rope, chain, cable, or strap.
6. CB antenna longer than 60 inches must be secured top and bottom, no metal whips allowed.
7. Jack, lug wrench, and a spare tire. Spare tire must have 3/32" minimum of tread. Event shall
decide if spare must be carried on the vehicle.
8. Operable brake lights
9. A functioning braking system to include a parked position. Event host has the final decision of
safety rule compliance.
10.Each vehicle must demonstrate its braking system works.
11.Current vehicle registration and proof of insurance.

Registered and Insured?

Is this how it is always going to be? I know I won't have my buggy registered and insured.

Do we have to have a spare tire carried on the vehicle? I took mine off and mounted my on board air in it's place.

As far as buggy type vehicles, I don't know of a state that you can actually register on in, so no worries for me there.

As far as the spare tire, as long as you have it back at camp, I don't see an issue. Some events require you to drive several miles to the trail head, and thus require you to carry your spare. That's not the case at Tall Corn, because all the trails start and end at the same place. PM me if you have any further questions.

You register it using the title from the "donor vehicle". A lot of the non-competition buggies still have a frame. Formula Toyota buggies use a stock mini truck frame.

I hadn't seen the registration\insurance requirement before, I must of missed it. I don't think they watch for that much anymore, quite a few buggy's down there and I'm sure most are not insured.

We aren't talking MIOBI members. There weren't any true buggys at the event last year. Wicketts is close. We aren't using Midwest 4 wheel drive association insurance, which is more lenient then TLCA's insurance. We(the club) are ones that will be checking rigs to make sure they meet TLCA insurance tech guidelines.

Roger that!

Time is ticking down...less than a month. 22 rigs thus far and there is a lot of chatter...

I have a special surprise for everyone on Saturday night...(hint: I brewed it last friday)

This is getting close!

I have an appointment tomorrow to get my e-brake working again. Last item on the agenda for prep.

Getting Ready

I just washed and waxed mine to get ready.

There won't be any mud will there? :grinpimp:

I personally guarantee there will be no more than 75 tons of mud at the event, if you aren't able to find any, follow me and I'll be able to find some for you.

Art, you probobly still have some under your carpet, right? :)

Here is what the t-shirt back will look like...the front will have our logo in yellow over the left breast.
