My brother and I are heading to Tahuya on Saturday May 4th to see what else we can rip off of his Rubicon.

We'll be meeting in the parking lot of the Safeway in Belfair around 9 am. I'm driving a white 97 FZJ80, and my brother has the blue Jeep Rubicon.

Any and all are welcome to come! I could use a hand finding the south loop lol.

Mike

Would love to join you but I've already committed to a beach meet up & BBQ with a bunch of south sound guys out near Westport. If it wasn't our "3rd annual" I'd be in Belfair for sure.

Hah! Wat 3rd annual?

No worries- I'd have gone to the bbq had I read the announcement before making plans, so I'll catch you guys on the next run!

My brother and I are hoping to get out wheeling twice a month for the rest of this year, but we'll have to see how the scheduling works out.

Lemongrass satay? Dang, time to up my game for trail food. Don't think a day-old Safeway sandwich is going to cut the mustard next to that :D

Just spend 20 minutes kicking some trees with your shins, same result :D

I loved training with the traditional Muay Thai guys back in the day, very hardcore. They opened my eyes to holes in my style, and upped my game when it came to conditioning. Good times.

I've learned not to hit anything that doesn't hit back. No fun in that!

Very true. Plus you get fewer strange looks from people lol.

When I fought in Thailand, I trained there for 2 months prior to fight and it did condition my shins. I was kicking old tires in Hawaii for conditioning. Good times

If I can get off work early to get tabs before the 4th I can for sure make it. Sucks getting paid only once a month haha.

That's so cool! I always daydreamed about training in Japan (I'm a Shotokan guy), so going back to the source has a certain appeal for me.

Go for dinner at the Emerald Thai restaurant in Des Moines on Pacific Highway sometime. It has Thai championship fight posters on the walls. The proprietor is a former national champion, super nice guy. I was introduced to him by the instructors at the CJTC academy, we used to go there on Tuesday nights. The guy loves to talk training and is in remarkable shape for his age-looks like he's got a honey baked ham hanging where his calf muscle should be lol.

So Mike, are you and your brother still going on the 4th

We'll be in the Elphendal Pass Rd parking lot at the trailhead around 9. I'm catching a ferry to get there, so hopefully its on time-otherwise I might be a few minutes late.

If anyone else is showing up later in the day and wants to meet up, I'll be monitoring CB channel 20 and 144.000 on VHF. My call sign is KF7UCM.

That's Master Johns restaurant. He used to be a World Muay Thai champion. I met him when I 1st moved here 5 years ago and ate at his restaurant. I always see him at fights because he's the referee.

We'll also be taking ferry from Pier 15 Seattle at 7.35am. Would it be possible to meet up at Safeway on WA-3 ?

Sure, can't see why not. More parking, easier to spot each other etc...

I was going to jump on the Fauntleroy ferry at 735. The crossing is about 20 minutes faster, but it takes a few more minutes to get there vs Pier 15 so its probably a push.

I'll check the drive times from the Bremerton side-you may see me on your sailing lol.
