Was it avalible in 1998 from the factory, and if so where would be a good place to the parts needed? The parts manager at my local dealership tried looking the other day, and couldn't find anything because it's a little older...

I don't think it was. When I had a 1998 I asked the same question of my parts guy and was denied... if you have power locks though you can go to CarToys or somewhere and get keyless entry installed, for a lot less than the OEM would have cost you.
