I have been searching threads on the possible tach related problem that causes "hiccups, surge, lunge" while cruising. It happens intermitently and I have heard that disconnecting the tach may correct the problem. The other culprit is the EGR valve. How many of you have your tach's disconnected? I have heard that it's a common thing, is that true? I recently replaced the carb and fuel filter but it still does it. How difficult is it to disconnect the tach? Anything else that you all would suggest?
