Here's the deal: Apparently, I found the last four KOs (275/70/16) in the US . They are sitting at my tire shop waiting for me to bring in the LC. But, I've started thinking about the ATZs, and wonder if they'd be a good compromise between comfort and light off-road/trail use. I love the look of the BFGs and the price. If anything happens to one of the KOs and i need a replacement... I could be up a creek. Is anyone running those Michelins? Thoughts? :confused:Skol.

You saying there are only 4 KO's in the United States in that size? Why not go up to a 285? or a 255/85/16? Bit more diameter with the 255 and it's a skinny, not as much unsprung weight and resistance of the 285.

If that's your case, I would say the ATZ for availability, but I would go up a size and get all 5 replaced.

Tirerack has at least 8 in stock (probably many more).

Yeah, I thought about the 255s. They look goofy. I am reluctant to throw 285s on, unless I can find some 18s, because I tow a boat around all summer. Don't want to feel bogged down on the highway. Don't want to lose any more mpgs.

Tirerack w/ shipping, mounting and balancing, and road hazard warranty moves the ATs well past the ATZs at my shop.

I know the ATZs are new, but noone has tried them yet?

Skol.

You were worried about a spare. My point was, they are available.

Just to be clear. We are talking about Mickey Thompson ATZs and not michelin ATZs, right? I did a quick search on google for Michelin ATZ and came up with nothing. I bought some of the Mickey Ts a couple years ago and loved them. The best that I can remember they were pretty quite on the road and I would think they would be better in most cases offroad. With that said I have never owned KOs but thats because I can't stand the design. I'm sure they work well but IMO they are the worst looking all terrain out there.
