Okay, so what's with the article in the latest T4WDO about the AzLCA as being Arizona's Land Cruiser club...and no mention of CSC or other groups? Editors should really have caught that jab.

And what is a T4WDO?

I just got that myself today also, Toyota 4WD Offroad magizine, and I noticed John's 93 FJ80 in it...

That was written by Shotts....I thought it was in very poor taste. I do believe that shotts is a member of both clubs, however, maybe he shouldn't be?!? It just reminded me of why I do not belong to said "arizona cruiser club" that attitude seemst to be very common in that "other" club.

Hopefully he'll chime in here. I also don't believe AzLCA is a TLCA club anymore anyway, so it being the AZ club is inaccurate. Now this all said, it very well could have been the editors of T4WDO that edited the piece, not Shotts.

I agree completely.

Also AzLCA is no longer a TLCA club. They are not listed in Toyota Trails...

Seems like they are far from "Arizona's club"!

Any club is only as good as it's members.I was once a member of AzLCA but the meeting place (Scott Toyota) was to far and to late for a Thursday night. There are some really nice people in the club that I really enjoyed wheelin with and then there are the "others". My 40 just didn't fit in with their rides.

I figure John wrote the piece, let him write it the way he wants and thats who he was with that day anyway. I'd bet he wrote it a while back since he was driving the 93.

The part I found kinda amusing was calling that loop a 4. I went thru it late last year with no locker and no sliders. I thought a 4 meant "lockers required".

It's too bad that John feels that way, but I doubt any of us are going to change it. Maybe a well written letter to the editor pointing out this inaccuracy may get a CSC blurb published?

It's difficult to tell the relative size or activity of the clubs and to me it doesn't matter, I am happy where I am at. Here is one statistic showing that we are better web wheelers!:o :D

I saw the article at Alvin's house on Friday but didn't read it. I would like to check it out if someone has it on Friday night.

Maybe a well documented account of this Saturday's run with the Toyota FJ Cruiser team, claiming our stature as "Arizona's Other Toyota Club" would be in order.

"Copper State Cruiser, the other LandCruiser club in AZ" Our motto could be, if tree and bush triming equipment isn't part of your trail gear, where the right choice in AZ..

Wow...I am sickened by what Ive been reading here. Sickened, and amazed. I know some of you "critics" and am in disbelief. It kinda shows what you think of me as a person I suppose. Being a 100 lover leaves me open to "opinion" criticism. The above comments are something totally different.

Advice: Next time you read something that just doesn't "click", find out the story before trashing the individual.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

Some of my story (of course) was edited and re-written. Here's a cut and paste of my submitted story from Word:

"In 2001 my wife Rebecca and I decided it was time to search out places buried deep within our fine state. We knew we’d need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to do it. While I was far from the expert on what would make the best vehicle, we did agree that reliability was #1 on our list of qualifications. I had always heard that Toyota Land Cruisers excelled in this area. With a little research I confirmed this and to the dealer we went, where we ended up taking home a new 2001. We were excited! We were ready. Now, how do we find out where to go?

A couple months later we found that Arizona had its own Cruiser club, the Arizona Land Cruiser Association (AzLCA). Who better to link up with and learn the sport? So, we joined up and read about their next outing to the Reymert Mine in the Florence Junction area."

Look at the timeline? See it? 2001 The AzLCA was the only Cruiser Club in AZ.

Damn....I just can't believe the comments. Makes me sick! Crap....next....somebody in the CSC is going to ask me to forward them the email so they can see I'm not lying.

Well there you go. Like I said in my earlier post I bet he wrote it a while back. Way to go guys.

In the works I had planned to do the same thing (story/pics) with the spotlight on the CSC. I've been too busy to create my 4WD schedule of events for the next wheeling season. I think I'll take a step back for a while. Can't take the hate. (except UZJ100 hate :D )

The article was written and sent via email 4/1/2006. The topic statement refers to the AzLCA being the "AZ Club" in 2001 when we first started wheeling.

Nah, we're just jealous, or I am as I feel weak and girly-manish in my stocker Hundy. However, check my 100 road trip review over on EP.

Shotts, our fingers mostly are pointed at T4WDO. Love 'em over there but need to focus on editing/fact checking I too have had vast quantities of verbiage taken out of my articles--due I guess to my incomprehensible style.
