Hi everyone, Longtime lurker here finally decided to join in. First off I would like to thank everyone for the wealth of information I have recieved from this site. I own a 2000LC and the seal has blown on both of my headlights causing them to fog. I did some research and saw where the 06 - 07 updated headlights will fit with some minor fender trimming. The newer ones seem to incorporate the turn signals also. I was wondering if anyone had tried this yet, just how much trimming was necessary, is it plug and play and if they will adjust well once installed. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, TfromRI

I haven't done a retrofit, but I did split the case and clean the whole inside of the assembly and reseal it. It turned out great. No more condensation problems. My only complaint is that it was time consuming.

i want to paint the inside of my headlights black, anyone have luck splitting apart the LX headlights?

Should be the same as any. Get all the soft plastic/rubber removed from the housing and any wiring if applicable, bake assy in oven @ ~250f for a few minutes and check it to see if it's starting to melt the seal enough to separate with some sort of prying device (I used a butter knife). Heat it in like 2 minute increments until it starts to pry apart easily.(you might have to remove some little clamp/clip things too. Keep a close eye on it, you don't want to melt any tabs. Once it's apart go to town, mang. It's really time consuming and it needs to be perfectly clean for reassembly. Make sure you don't use a water based silicone when resealing. I used "Hondabond" because it's the best stuff around for any gasket making material.

It sounds scary, but it's really easy. Just take your time and you should be OK. I was going to paint my bezles black while I was at it, but I didn't want to take the time to do the whole other light so I skipped it.

The '03-07 LC's might use different plastic trim pieces under the lights...you'd better confirm it beforehand. There was a post way back when that confirmed that the trim pieces under the front grille are different for the '98-02 and '03-07.

1pc 03' up front bumper
1pc lock support (that's hold the grille)

Mind seperating that list into front and rear parts? I like the front end, but kinda dig the new tail lights.

It looks as simple as swapping out the lenses, is there really more to it? I cant see it!

Thanks

if you want the new tail lights, just swap 'em and your done.

Thats what i figured but them i read this on the cruiserparts.net site

""Might as well get the rear updated also! See below.
Must drill small hole for updated center rear emblem only $149 new. Very nice upgrade!!
2005 model tail lights/both sets are $230 each side new. ""

I dont understand what a small hole for an emblem has to do with the tail lights

it doesnt.......do you want to get the 06s with the LED brake lights?

Hadnt seen or thought about 06 LED's, pics?

I much prefer the cleaner look of the 05 clear portion of the tail lights over the orange 98-04 portion.

Truck is dark grey and the clear looks cleaner then the orange IMHO

Along the lines of the clear theme.. I think there is also a clear front corner of some sort available.

hks3sgte, did you just do that?
