I met with one of the decision making board members of my neighborhood recreation area tonight. He gave me a 90% green light to use the grounds for a fall swap meet Saturday Sept 24. He said by the June meeting, he could obtain the official nod. The association wants to extend a concrete slab on the pool deck. They got a bid for $7500. As fair trade for the venue at no cost to us, I suggested we rally a small group of volunteers on a weekend to prep for the slab pour. My bobcat would do 90% of the work. I can do the excavation in 90 minutes with the machine. A CLCC volunteer group can help lay the gravel base, and set forms for the slab pour. We can knock this out in a morning, and then the association can hire my concrete guy for about $2700 to set the metal, do the pour and trowel/brush finish the 600ft sq slab. They save a bundle and we get an awesome venue and location for our swap meet. That is the plan I'll present Wednesday to get this swap meet off the ground.
