I had a great time! My step dad and i will be camping there thanksgiving weekend with the rest of our family if anyone wants to head out there!!!

xtereme jeep was open tonight late on a sunday when the tow truck dropped us off. before we left they had the old clutch out ! so it should be done tomorrow.
 
So the clutch was definitely toast, huh? Well, we knew it was fried from the smell, but that's what gave out later?
 
You might check in with the FLCA guys. There is a run in Ocala on the weekend of the 18th. Can get some ideas of other places to go. There are quite a few closet cruizers in the area.
 
yeah it was just the clutch. took the diff covers off to change fluids and inspect them its and open diff so in 4 lo nothing is locked but if u catch it right all 4 will spin . after seeing danny go thru stuff with no lifT and almost stock sized tires he loves the land cruisers more and respects lockers alot more. he was looking into puting in a rear locker but i'm making him wait to see if i can get him back into toyotas and he is back to looking at FJ cruisers again. but the jeep is back up and running. we will be back out there all thanksgiving weekend. i'd love to see the place where danny is climbing a wall at the end!!!!

Yea i should have rolled the window back up in the jeep when i was driving !!!
 
Is the last video in Richloam as well? I don't think I've seen that one yet. I quit going out there after I had to remove my radiator to get the crap out of it. Looks like you guys had a good time.

from what i understand the last video is part of a rock quarry north of sr 50 at richloam.. where do you go out now if u stopped going to richloam?

Seeing me drive thru that first spot and not get stuck in my bone-stock rig might have had something to do with it as well :)

Although part of this is driving style and technique... going in flat-out isn't always the best method :) There's definitely something to not losing momentum, but driving it at a sane pace and knowing a little bit (or as much as you can) about what's under you is probably more important :)

The other thing to keep in mind is that it does help to have tread on your tires if you want traction :doh:

Funny, I had the Soggy Bottom Boyz "Rollin Like A Redneck" song playing in my head while you were doing that...

Are you guys planning on staying out there after Thanksgiving until Sunday? Maybe I can head over there that Saturday or Sunday ... I'd have to make sure I don't have anything else on my calendar.

By the way, if you want to get REALLY deep, look for Devil's Creek. That's where the 4' water is...
 
If you like to get your truck dirty, put your name in the hat and we'll plan another outing! I think some of us will be out there Thanksgiving weekend (sure beats shopping in my book!)

What do you guys think about planning another trip on Dec 17th or 18th?
