Hola,

So I bought my FJC April 9th and was admiring it in the driveway that evening and noticed a tilt toward the driver's side. Hmmmm....must be my driveway. I drove it 5 1/2 hours to Mammoth Mountain the next day and didn't think much of it. After a week of snowboarding (the FJC handled great in the ice and snow...even with the stock Dunlop tires) I returned home and noticed that damn tilt again.

Not the driveway. I measured the Front tire clearance and the Passenger side has about an inch more space between the tire and wheel well. The front skid plate also has about 3/4" space between it and the front bumper on the passenger side, whereas the drivers side is flush against the bottom of the bumper.

Anybody else got a slightly askew FJ? Any thoughts?

I am taking it back to the dealer tomorrow for a thorough check.

Any insight or info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
JD

Well thats awsome!
Toyota built in the famous FJ40 series "lean" into the new FJC.
Aftermarket shims are probably being developed as I write this!:D

Thats a serious Downer .. ;p

He ain't got no distractions
Can't hear those buzzers and bells
Don't see lights a flashin'
Plays by sense of smell
Always gets a replay
Never tilts at all
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball

I am 5' 9" 175lbs. I have put on some weight recently...I mean I think I read somewhere around here that FJ owners are supposed to drink losta beer...right? ;)

FJ balance

If you take a close look under the FJC, you'll notice 2 things:

1.) The Gas tank is located on the driver side of the vehicle.
Weight is approx (19gal x 6.5 lbs per gal= 123.5) if full

2.) You "Should" notice a spacer "1/2 inch I think..possibly 3/4??" on the front and rear springs of the driver's side suspension to compensate for the extra weight of the driver and fuel tank.

When doing the OME lift, we noticed the factory spacers WERE installed on the driver side front and rear, and moved them to the new susp.

You might want to check to make sure they are there.

Good, I am not crazy

Yep, I have thoughts...and now I know they are not the thoughts of a crazy woman! I keep asking people to look at the back of the truck and if the can see that it leans to the driver's side! Everyone thinks I am nuts, but I swear to you it does. I haven't done the measurements or looked really closely at the suspension, but I sure will now.

I also noticed the skidplate was wonky...so did my brother. Let us know what the dealer says about the "lean."
