Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice here. I LS swapped my FJ62 (LM7/4L80E) and upgraded the suspension to Dobinsons MRR, plus I’m running a Dobinsons steering damper. The swap itself went smoothly and everything checks out. Steering gearbox is solid, column is fine, damper and tie rod ends are new, all the obvious stuff seems good.

But the steering still feels all over the place. Even after an alignment, the truck wanders like it’s got a mind of its own and doesn’t feel very safe to drive.

It's currently running on 285/85/17 tires and 17x9 6x139.7 -38 wheels.

I’m starting to think this might be caster angle or something geometry-related from the lift. Has anyone else run into this after a swap + Dobinsons setup? Any advice on what to check or adjust would be hugely appreciated.

Your wheel offset on top of low caster is your problem. Add shims, and get wheels that are narrower or have more backspace, or both.
