suspension seats

You will have to cut and relocate the inner front mounts otherwise it should work. The non-suspended seats do not blot on to the suspension bases so you will need the complete assembly or adapt generic seats.

yes, there is a sort of crossmember ontop of the transmission tunnel which is wider on the non-suspended seats trucks. It extends out like 2" on each side where the suspended seats ones stick to the tunnel sides. IIRC. The non-susp seat ride and bolt ontop of the crossmember, the susp. bases blot on the floor. There's some cutting and welding involved to make room for the susp. floot mount but nothing major. I have not got around to do it yet on my LJ, and may never will but the next project involving a 70 series cab will surely get it. HTH.Unfotunately I don't think I have a pic of the bracket on the suspended seats tub.

I got suspension seat bases from G&S for my 74.
I started happily un bolting things, thinking they would go in pretty easy (moving the one mount).

Unforchanaty they do not bolt right in.
I can post some pics (tonight).
The will be some work to make it all happen.
I am going to do the project one weekend when I have the time and am not rushed. Because the 74 is my DD, and I can't be without it. I think I could get it all done in 5 hours for both. But that's just an estimate, and estimates (at least mine) are always know for being short. :)

Cheers,
Nick

Estimate

Well Nick, if you think your estimate is short lengthen it out some.

That way you cover your butt..

I think 5 hours is a valid estimate. :)
However, usually once I am done, and time is tallyed up I am out in the estimate.

Cheers,
Nick

now one question is if there is any differences in the floor pans between autos and standards in a bj74? Are any of the people that have tried to put suspension bases into autos or Have they all been standards? I am importing parts from austrailia and have oppurtunity get a pair of seats from a bj 74 auto and so is mine. The cost for the pair is $500 and I was wondering if it would be my only chance to get these. Is it worth it and worth the hassle to modify?
