Here is my situation, i have a 15 LC200, I love everything about it and have no issues with the ride quality. My wife on the other hand does not like the rough ride, especially when on rough roads. She wants me to "fix" that.

Outside of getting a different vehicle - is there any way to make the ride more "comfortable" with a suspension upgrade? If so, what would that be?

She does like the ride of the lexus, I guess that is a solution but I'd much prefer to keep what we have.

THanks!

Study the tires you have on the LC. I had the same issue.

Michelin Lattitude HP tires were about the smoothest ride I could find. Load rating P tire vs LT helps too.

Same tire some of the LX570’s come with.

To be fair, because of the premium that the LC sells for compared to the LX, you could probably move up to a newer LX or same year with less miles, and move up a lot in creature comforts, without actually having to spend any money.

I'm not necessarily opposed to switching to an LX, I figure I'd be out more money, maybe not a lot but definitely some. I guess if no suspension fixes are available, it is worth considering.

I just looked on auto trader - I know, only one source, going to a 16 model year is 60k+, I'm sure that is not universal but I constantly hear that the LX is "cheaper" but I guess my searches have never been able to find that. I'm in the PNW now so hopefully at least a viable option is out there.

any other suspension advice other than tires - they are not super aggressive at all right now, or move to LX? Hoping to not have to change but happy wife...

What tire pressure are you running?

Read this thread, wait for OP to install the shocks and give feedback on the ride?

pressures run between 37-39, thanks for the link. I'll see what they say. hopefully they are happy

Honestly, if you are okay with an LX just keep your eye out for one. Should be able to break even after all is said and done. Suspension is considered too soft by most of the LC guys, but there are 3 settings that I toggle between quite a bit. Comfort mode is too floaty on most roads but great on rough roads. Either way I think everyone can agree that it rides softer than the LC. An aftermarket suspension in your case wouldnt make sense unless you are set on owning an LC and not an LX.

If you have OEM size tires, your tire pressure is as much as 15% too high. Run that back down to the 33 psi recommended (at least that's the pressure for my '17). You'll find a definitely softer ride. I assume from the discussion so far you have standard load tires and not LT load tires or any type of AT tire.

Not sure on condition but there is a 2016 LX at Hgreg near Miami with 54k miles. I am a few months away from buying but is the best price I have seen. Found it using CarGuru, love being able to see how long the cars have been around and price history.

I was wrong, pressures 32-34, I was going on memory, I was wrong. Considering the LX route, if the wife continues to complain. I'll keep watching the king vs bp thread.

I had those tires on my lx when I bought it. I didn’t find them particularly comfortable. What is their build date?

I think you would be out less $$$ switching to an LX then going to a King or Fox suspension set up in your LC. Not to mention the hassel that you would have to get them rebuilt every 2 years.

thanks everyone. an equivalent 15 LX would probably be an easy trade, however it is amazing the price difference between a 15 and a 16 - most of the 15s I see are around 48k, most 16s are 63-66k. big jump for 1yr. Although I do like some of the feature upgrades for 16.

Where are you getting that information? They don't need to be rebuilt every 2 years, especially on a vehicle that doesn't see much off-road time.
