Where are you getting that information? They don't need to be rebuilt every 2 years, especially on a vehicle that doesn't see much off-road time.
Per Fox - If truly 100% street can go 50k miles before rebuild, 50/50 off/on is every 10k, occasionally off road is every 20k, all off roadnis every 1k. Shocks generate heat (even on road) and the heat is tougher than the dirt. Heat and wet is very hard on the oil and seals so Even for 100% on road in the SE US where it is hot and rains all summer If they were on my truck I’d do every 10k. I had a set of King’s on my G500 and from what I remember it was every 2 years max, I couldn’t find a schedule for them online.

Yep, those are their recommendations. Other shock manufacturers recommend replacing shocks every 50k miles too.

In my experience, if the shocks are not keaking anything, they are fine to go past 50k miles.

I rebuilt my 2.5 res fox shocks on my 4runner at 60k miles, which had some hard off-road miles on them. The only thing wrong was the fluid was a little bit dark. No leaks at all. After the rebuild, I didn't notice a difference.

On the other hand, I had Icons and FOA shocks that required constant rebuilds with in a few thoasand miles.

I only used Kings for a little bit, but will put them above Icon and FOA in terms of reliability.

Most other shocks are disposable not rebuildable. So with disposable that makes sense. If you go too long with a rebuildable you will have the possibility of damage and turn your rebuildable shocks into disposable shocks. Pretty the same as any PM, do it to prevent problems vs do it because of problems.

This is why a few years ago so many 1st gen Raptors were for sale used with 40 to 60k miles on them. OEM Fox shocks would fail and the the dealer would inform the owner that they were past the 36k mile warranty and that it would be $thousands to replace them.

That is unfortunate, the Raptor shocks are also rebuildable. $35 for a rebuild kit, $125 for Fox to rebuild.
