I'm heading down there, but my drive may be tied to a buddy's flight into Reno or Sacramento on Nov. 3 or 4. Hoping to have those details firmed up in a couple weeks.

I'm in. We may be going down early though. I'll know closer to the event.

Dan :cheers::steer::bounce::bounce2:

I will be requesting time off to attend this event. If possible I would sure like to follow the Caravan to Pismo.

well looks like me and the :princess: will be going to Surf-n-Turf ought to be a blast who all is going and when are you guys leaving for this

Dan :cheers::steer::bounce::bounce2:

Chicago, you've been before what day would be best to leave as a group to get a decent group camping area...assuming the Nevada contingent wants to stay together?

Were heading down Thurs. AM, but MAY bow out of the convoy down. The missus will likely be coming and she may wanna make a few stops along the way. If she is not going...this will depend on the weather ENTIRELY...then Ill head down with ya's.
Thurs. usually isnt too busy and you have a pretty good pickings on the camp site. We usually stay (as youre driving in) to the back left corner of the street sign, on the side where the "shat houses" are.
Either way, Ill be heading down Thurs. AM. Hopefully in the 40!!!!:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Wednesday is the new Thursday at SnT ;)

Whats the best way to get to Pismo from here gang ?

Dan :cheers::steer::bounce::bounce2:

I just drive down I5. One year Alvaro took us to a dynomite little mexican restaurant in Avenal (on Hwy 33 just just off I5) for lunch: A must stop spot for sure (its on the south side of the main drag through Avenal...sorry can't remember the name but just a little hole in the wall place). Then, whether you're heading south on Hwy 33 from Avenal or heading south on I5 take the Hwy 41 exit to San Luis Obispo...and then on to Pismo Beach.

Be aware you need a tall flag on your rig; check the SnT regs. Also know it, more often than not, gets very windy at times on the beach during SnT. So be sure everything is anchored down properly or it'll be shake, rattle and roll time :D.

Also be prepared for foggy damp relatively cool/cold conditions. Yes I've been there on bluebird days but it sucks when its doing its fog/cold thing and not to have enough of the proper clothing.

Oh yeah...be prepared to be digging sand out of every nook and cranny of your rig and person for at least a month following SnT :lol:

me and the :princess: are goin so save us a spot please hehe

Dan

What a FUGGIN BLAST!!!!!
The weather was a mixed bag of tricks. We had gotten a new Cabelas XPG 4 season tent for this event that just KILLED IT! It was ROCK SOLID in the winds and kept us BONE DRY in the rain. We picked up some REI sand and snow stakes that GREATLY aided in the tents success.
Got to see a lot of people I have known on HERE for years, but never had the opportunity to meet and checked out some great rigs from mild to wild. HUGE turn out too.
Briefly saw EspressoDan and cruiserdrew....
I was drudging through the dunes on FOOT up to the crappers, and I look off to my left and I see Espresso Dan driving up there. He looks at me, and I wave....he drives off!?!?!?! Fawker didnt even recognize me!!!:lol:
Fallon Dan showed up on Friday AM. He camped over by where I was with our group...
BUSY BUSY BUSY!

It just goes by SOOOOOO FAST!

BTW...Rusty...Mace sent a "present" back with me for you. I have it here at the house w/ me!

Yeah sorry about that Keith! Must have been your hat :flipoff2:...or maybe it was the fact I didn't get much sleep since the morons next to me partied...loudly with seemingly all their lights on...until 4:30AM. :rolleyes: And I had pressing bidness to attend to :lol:

Aahhhh...Surf and Turf.

Lol... Yeah. Had the same bizzzness to tend to.
