If I remember right he told me he had an Aussie locker in the rear. Same as mine. He's also running 4:88's I believe.

Should I be going on this trip? Or do I need to wait till I'm locked in the rear?

I forsee it going like this. I *MIGHT* be able to get over the hump with some creative rock stacking and just the right line. If not, I could get tugged over it?

Do you guys think I'll have issues in other spots?

Be honest w/ me fellers.

(edit: I don't mind getting stuck or pulled. I do mind being the pain in the ass that's slowing everybody down, and don't wanna get in over my head and end up breaking something, not for my sake but for the trip's sake- don't want any of you guys to have to halt what you're doing to rescue my ill prepared self)

Your a good driver Joe, if there is a ton of snow at the trial head then I say hop in with someone, or if you have a ton of trouble right off the bat. If you think you'll be good other then two or three spots I say bust out the winches. But Mike and William may have some impute on the matter as I have yet to do the trial.

Have you ever driving in the snow? your from tex if I remember correctly.

Hi Joe, yes I have Aussie locker rear open front with 4.88 just like William said. That's the only spot that need the most attention. As long as you have good spotter you'll be fine. The rest of the trip up wasn't that bad at all.

I think you'll be good Joe. We'll have at least 3 vehicles with winches and a few hi lifts. We're all pretty seasoned drivers so I think we oughta be able to get it done.

I'll also add that not having a locker can be beneficial in the snow on side slopes and going downhill. Don't stress too much about it, we've got straps, winches, and snatch blocks.

They are nice for getting over things though!

Locker was on my list. I've been waiting on a cheap unused second hand one to pop up, but this looks like the right time.

I'm down, order new diff gaskets and cover gaskets as well as new rear wheel seals if your semi floating. If you allready ordered the locker no worries, non of that is needed.

And either way you'll be fine as mike said.
Do you have a shop/garage to do it in? It's pretty simple really.

My garage is open if need be. Kind of small but we could make it work. I'd like to see how it's done anyhow. As Mike was saying, the auto locker can get pretty tricky in the snow, but the icy stuff is down right horrendous with an auto locker.

Oh, I agree. Once you have it, you'll never go back. They definitely come in handy a lot more times than not.

My garage is open too if needed

Sent from my hawn finga using IH8MUD

JJ, yes I took them off and i am in the middle of bedlining my whole truck with dark grey Durabak. I still have the doetch tech shock and 30 mm rear spring spacer if you still wants them JJ:)
