UPDATE: Run scheduled for Saturday the 27th @8am Bonny lake Safeway near the fuel station. Its going to be slick wet and snowy so we advise lockers but if anyone wants to get their feet wet and hitch a ride let us know.

Update #2, snow level went back up, but there may be some lingering.

Figured I would localize chat about the upcoming run. I have heard different dates, mostly 27th but talk abo the 28th if Dain and Aaron can make it.
Anywho I say we try to get some new peeps to join in as well. I often see lurkers on here and I just want to say dont be afraid to speak up and say "Hi" even if you dont wheel, or better yet dont be afraid to get her dirty, almost all these trails stockers are fine for and we would tell you otherwise.

rant over, lets get this date set. I am excited for some wet trails!!!! :steer: and the :princess: is ready for no dust! haaha

I would be down for going if I could bum a ride up and down the trail with someone. I loaned my lx to the local highschool autoshop and probably won't be able to get it back before then.

I might be interested. What's the trail like?

We can hook you up solidaxles no problem.

Well hopefully one who has actually ran this trail can chime in but it looks like its going to depend on if the snow sticks around. Was out in enumclaw last night and the snow level was right there.
So we will keep a eye on the weather but I will assume if its snowy it may be a locker only party or the extreme willing.

Mike or William wanna chime in on that?

(In other words if its snowy you may wanna take the 60)

Super duper rocky, only one really tough section. One time I made it up on my 2'nd attempt, second trip it took me 4-5 tries. About a 20' section that has a big rocker panel killing rock on the right and an old dead tree on the left. Rest of it is pretty cake, but snowy IDK what it'd be like, could get interesting.

btw, I'm totally stock 'cept for 33" BFG KM2's. Also no flares or running boards. If you have running boards on the way up, I don't think you'll have them on the way down.

I think I am in. I have family coming in that weekend, I may invite them with, if they don't wanna come they can stay at home with my daughter since that's who they're really here to see anyway...

If it's snowy I'd love to try it. If I can't make it I'll either park it and hitch a ride or if you guys are willing, drag me over whatever i can't make it up. I only think there'd be a spot or two I'd have problems with.

Still trying to get the mods to change the thread title to the correct date. Yah man, if its snowy it will be fun to bust out the winches no problem!
I am kind of hoping it is snowy although I know that will knock out a few people unfortunataly. But at least we got in a few good stocker runs this summer. Washington weather is finally back!!!

And thanks for the info on the trail Joe.

I will tell you that Mike and I have never been to the top when the snow is around. But it's also always only been the two of us. With a few other rigs to help out with winching and recovery, I think it might be doable. Would definitely be fun to try. With snow, I think the stock rigs would definitely need to sit it out. That's not to say they couldn't tag along to the trail head and then jump in with someone else. With all of that being said, I'm down to roll. Let's get it figured out!

That looks nice and fun. I can't wait.

Down definitely on Sunday. Every Saturday I have select soccer for my 12yr old. Wife said I can

I can go either day.
Mike, William, Joe, can you guys go sunday? Is Aaron in on this?

Also so far it looks like we will have snow as of now. Snow elevation will be around 3,000ft through the week, the weekend may shape up different. I think surprise lake it at 4,400ft

s*** my bad can't go Sunday because gotta go Sounders game.

Good news is I can go Sat! So Sorry

Yeah, I'm in for either day.

Either day works for me.

It looks like Saturday is most convenient, hopefully Ferry will chime in as to whether he and his brother-in-law are still heading up.

I say we call it Saturday!

Saturday 27th, Surprise Lake Run

Yes Sir I am down for saturday 27th. Kyle, sorry I canceled on you last saturday.
We all woke up at 10 am and by noon my brother in law decided he wanted to go wheeling. There was 5" of snow at the top of Surprise Lake and was heavy snowing when we left at 4 pm. At the spot that Joe mention was really slick from mud and snow, i made it on third attempt. The rest of the trip going up was fairly easy because we had fresh snow and first one who hit the trail. It would had been different story if it was packed and icy.

Oh you should have hit me up Ferry when you decided to go! no worries though I had a much due relaxing day.
Ok Saturday it is! We may have a decent amount of snow towards the top if this keeps up.

The wife and I are kicking around the idea of staying a night up there if anyone will join us, I dont want to be on the trail back down alone :) So let me know if anyone is down. Also If that does end up happening Solidaxles will need a ride down with someone but I am sure that wont be a problem.

Saturday @8 Safeway in Bonney lake.

I may be down to camp for the night. Let me see what I have going on and I'll let you know.
